‘మ సూద’తో మంచి విజయాన్ని అందుకొని నటుడిగా వరుస అవకాశాలు అందిపుచ్చుకుంటున్నారు తిరువీర్‌.  ఆ జాబితాలో తాజాగా వచ్చిన చిత్రమే ‘పరేషాన్’. లాక్ డౌన్ సమయంలో దర్శకుడు రూపక్ రొనాల్డ్‌సన్‌ రూపొందించిన ఈ చిత్రం ఎట్టకేలకు రానా దగ్గుబాటి కంటపడింది. తన దవడలు నొప్పిపుట్టించేలా నవ్వించిందని రానా ప్రశంసించారు. ‘కేరాఫ్ కంచెరపాలెం’ తరహాలో పరేషాన్ టీమ్‌ను ప్రోత్సహించేందుకు తన సమర్పణలో విడుదల చేసేందుకు ముందుకొచ్చారు. అలాగే తెలంగాణ యాసలో టీజర్ నుంచి ట్రైలర్ వరకు ఎంతో ఆసక్తిని రేకెత్తించింది. (Pareshan movie review) ఇటీవల కాలంలో ప్రాంతీయ కథలకు మంచి ఆదరణ లభిస్తుండటంతో ఎలాంటి పరేషాన్ లేకుండానే ఈ పరేషాన్ థియేటర్ లో విడుదలైంది. రానా నమ్మిన ఈ సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులను నవ్వించిందా? లేక పరేషాన్ చేసిందా?

కథేంటంటే: మంచిర్యాలలో సింగరేణి ఉద్యోగి సమర్పణ్( మురళీధర్ గౌడ్). బొగ్గుబావిలో పనిచేసుకుంటూ సమయం దొరికితే క్రైస్తవ ప్రార్థన సభల్లో అనువాదం చేస్తుంటాడు. అతని కొడుకు ఐజాక్ (తిరువీర్). స్నేహితులతో కలిసి జులాయిగా తిరుగుతుంటాడు. బావి పనిలో పెట్టిస్తేనైనా తన కొడుకు బాగుపడతాడని తన ఉద్యోగం కొడుక్కి వచ్చేలా చేయడం కోసం ప్రయత్నాలు చేస్తుంటాడు సమర్పణ్. ఈ క్రమంలో కొడుకు ఉద్యోగం కోసం భార్య గాజులు, బంగారాన్ని అమ్మి డబ్బు జమచేస్తాడు. ఆ డబ్బును మధ్యవర్తికి ఇవ్వమని తల్లి ఐజాక్‌కు ఇస్తుంది. ఇంతలో తన స్నేహితుల్లో ఇద్దరికి ఆపద వస్తుంది. ఆ డబ్బును వాళ్లకిచ్చి ఆ ఆపద నుంచి గట్టెక్కిస్తాడు ఐజాక్‌. అప్పుడే ఊళ్లో జరిగిన ఓ పెళ్లి బారాత్ లో శిరీష(పావని)ని చూసి ఇష్టపడతాడు. (Pareshan movie review in telugu)శిరీష కూడా ఐజాక్ ను ప్రేమిస్తుంది. ఓ రోజు శారీరకంగా ఒక్కటవుతారు. వారం తిరగకుండానే శిరీషకు వాంతులవుతాయి. తాను గర్భం దాల్చినట్లు ఐజాక్‌కు చెప్పడంతో ఇద్దరూ పరేషాన్‌ అవుతారు. ఊళ్లో ఉన్న ఆస్పత్రులకు వెళ్తే అసలు విషయం బయటపడుతుందని భయపడతారు. హైదరాబాద్ వెళ్లి ఆస్పత్రిలో చూపిస్తానని స్నేహితుడి బండి అమ్మి డబ్బు తీసుకుంటాడు ఐజాక్. అదే రోజు రాత్రి ఐజాక్ జేబులోని డబ్బు, పక్కనే ఉన్న స్నేహితుడు సత్తి కనిపించకుండా పోతాడు. ఆ తర్వాత ఏం జరిగింది? డబ్బుతో పారిపోయిన సత్తి దొరికాడా?శిరీష, ఐజాక్‌ల పరిస్థితి ఏమైంది? అనేది తెరపై చూడాల్సిందే.

ఎలా ఉందంటే: తెలుగు సినిమా కంటే ఇప్పుడు తెలంగాణ సినిమా మాట ఎక్కువగా వినిపిస్తోంది. మొన్న జాతిరత్నాలు, డీజే టిల్లు.. నిన్న బలగం, దసరా, మేమ్ ఫేమస్.. నేడు పరేషాన్. ఇలా  తెలంగాణ ప్రాంతీయ కథలన్నీ తెలుగు తెరపై ప్రాణం పోసుకుంటున్నాయి. మరెన్నో కథలకు ఊతమిస్తున్నాయి. తెలంగాణ ప్రజల అస్థిత్వాన్ని, వారి ఆరాటం, పోరాటాన్ని కొన్ని చిత్రాలు చాటితే మరికొన్ని సంప్రదాయాలు, ఆచార వ్యవహారాలకు అద్దంపడుతున్నాయి. ఇంకొన్ని వినోదాన్ని పంచుతూ బాక్సాఫీసు వద్ద తెలంగాణ బ్రాండ్ సినిమాగా ముద్రపడేలా చేస్తున్నాయి. (Pareshan movie review) అందులో ఒకటే ఈ పరేషాన్. ఆద్యంతం నవ్వులు పంచుతూ సాగే ఈ కథ మంచిర్యాల పరిసర ప్రాంతాల్లో జరుగుతుంటుంది. కొడుకును ప్రయోజకుడ్ని చేయాలనే తండ్రి తపనతో కథ ప్రారంభమవుతుంది. తెలంగాణ పల్లె వాతావరణం, స్నేహితుల ముచ్చట్లు, వారి జీవన విధానాన్ని కొట్టొచ్చినట్లు తీర్చిదిద్దాడు దర్శకుడు రూపక్. (Pareshan movie review) ప్రథమార్ధంలో ఐజాక్ స్నేహితులకు డబ్బు ఇచ్చి ఇబ్బందులో పడటం, శిరీషతో ప్రేమ వ్యవహారం మరిన్ని చిక్కుల్లోకి నెట్టేయడం, పొరుగూరి పోరగాళ్లతో కొట్లాటలు, మందు ముచ్చట్లతో నవ్వుల్లో ముంచెత్తుతుంది. ఎప్పుడైతే శిరీష విషయం తెలిసి ఐజాక్ హైరానాకు గురవుతాడో అప్పుడే అసలు కథ మొదలవుతుంది.

డబ్బులు తీసుకెళ్లిన సత్తి కోసం వెతకడం, ఆ వెతుకులాటలో స్నేహితులతో వాగ్వాదం తదితర సన్నివేశాలు భావోద్వేగంగా సాగుతూనే నవ్వులు పూయిస్తాయి. సత్తి కుడిచేతి బొటనవేలు తెగిపోయిన సన్నివేశాలు, ఐజాక్ బ్యాండ్ డ్రెస్ సన్నివేశాలు, ఐజాక్‌ను తండ్రి కొట్టే సన్నివేశాలు, టైగర్ శీను పెళ్లిలో గొడవ...పరేషాన్‌లో ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలుస్తాయి. ప్రథమార్ధంలో కథ నవ్వులతో ముంచెత్తినా ద్వితీయార్ధంలోనే అసలు కథ సాగుతుంటుంది. (Pareshan movie review) అయితే స్నేహితులతో కలిసి మద్యం సేవించే సన్నివేశాలు పదే పదే కనిపిస్తుండటం ప్రేక్షకులను సహనానికి పరీక్షపెడతాయి. తెలంగాణ పోరగాళ్లంతా తాగుడుకు బానిసలవుతున్నారా అనే సంకేతాలు వ్యక్తమయ్యేలా చేస్తాయి. అప్పు తీర్చడానికి డబ్బుల్లేకపోయినా తాగడానికి మాత్రం వచ్చాయా అనే ప్రశ్న ఉత్పన్నమవుతుంటుంది. భావోద్వేగ సన్నివేశాల్లో హాస్యం జోడించడంతో అక్కడక్కడ తేలిపోయాయి. క్రైస్తవ మత ప్రార్థనలు, వారి పాటలు సన్నివేశాలకు తగ్గట్లుగా వినోదాన్ని పంచుతాయి.

ఎవరెలా చేశారంటే: తిరువీర్ మరోసారి వైవిధ్యమైన పాత్రలో కనిపించారు. మసూదలో అమయాకత్వంతో భయపెడితే ఇందులో అదే అమాయకత్వంతో కూడిన పాత్రతో నవ్వించాడు. కొన్నికొన్ని సన్నివేశాల్లో తిరువీర్ నటన మెప్పించేలా ఉంది. (Pareshan movie review) ఎలాంటి పాత్రలోనైనా ఒదిగిపోతానని ఐజాక్ పాత్రతో నిరూపించుకున్నాడు. ఇక శిరీషగా నటించిన పావని నటన ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణగా నిలుస్తుంది. అమాయకంగా కనిపిస్తూ ఏడుస్తూ నవ్విస్తుంది. సమర్పణ్  పాత్రలో మురళీధర్ గౌడ్ మరోసారి మెరుపులు మెరిపించారు. క్రైస్తవ మత ప్రార్థన సన్నివేశాలతోపాటు కొడుకును మందలించే సన్నివేశాల్లో జీవించేశారు. ఐజాక్ స్నేహితులుగా పాషా, టైగర్ శీను, ఆర్జీవీ, సత్తి, మైదాక్ పాత్రల్లో నటించిన వారంతా చక్కగా నటించారు.(Pareshan movie review) కొత్త వాళ్లైనా ఎక్కడా బెదురు లేకుండా చాలా సహజంగా నటిస్తూ నవ్వుల్లో ముంచెత్తారు. ఇక దర్శకుడు రూపక్ రొనాల్డ్‌సన్‌ గురించి ప్రత్యేకంగా చెప్పుకోవాలి. చిన్న కథే అయినా దానికి సమపాళ్లలో వినోదాన్ని జోడించి శభాష్ అనిపించుకున్నాడు. రచన పరంగా మరిన్ని జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకుంటే బాగుండేది అనిపించింది. సినిమాటోగ్రాఫర్ వాసు... తెలంగాణ ఆత్మను చక్కగా ఒడిసిపట్టి తన కెమెరాలో బంధించాడు. యశ్వంత్ నాగ్ అందించిన సంగీతం పరేషాన్ కు బలంగా నిలిచింది.  ‘సౌ సారా..’, ‘ముసి ముసి నవ్వుల మంజుల’ పాటలు జోష్‌ నింపగా నేపథ్య సంగీతం చక్కగా ఇమిడిపోయింది. తెలంగాణ యాస, భాషతో కూడిన సంభాషణలు కావల్సినంత పండాయి. నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగున్నాయి.

Pareshan Movie Review: Soaked in Hilarity, Rooted In Reality

In every great film, there comes one point—a sequence, a scene, a shot, or at times, a single moment—that assures us that we are in the hands of a tasteful filmmaker. That point in Pareshan arrives nearly 25 minutes into the film when Isaac (Thiruveer), an ordinary youth from Mancherial in Telangana begins to develop feelings for Sirisha (Pavani Karanam) at the launch event of a locally produced music video named ‘Musi Musi Navvula Manjula’. This song, conceived as a peppy dance number by the youngsters of the town, suddenly transitions into a melodious version as the scene segues into montages of Isaac and Sirisha falling in love. Moreover, this entire song sequence is bookended by the dialogues of a local news anchor named Rajitha. There’s something about this simple but delightful sequence, which places great emphasis on music and its variations, that instantly affirms that Rupak Ronaldson is crafting this film with so much confidence and style, although the latter quality is not conspicuous in every frame and scene. The style and its motive are to create frames and scenes that look deliberately raw or say, un-stylised. The people, their faces, voices, their clothes, the colours in the frames, their houses… everything looks real. Yet, the premise is painted in outlandishness and garnished with just the right amount of quirk and silliness. Pareshan manages to balance its eccentricity with grounded nature and how! 

It’s interesting that Pareshan is releasing just a week after Mem Famous , a film about three aimless youngsters from a Telangana village trying to make an identity for themselves. Pareshan ’s central conceit too entwines itself with the direction of its protagonist Iscaac's life as we saw in Mem Famou s. Likewise, the characters in both films share nonchalance about life and a conflict—financial burden. In Pareshan , money plays a crucial role. At one point, Isaac is preached about priorities and reminded that human life is more important than money. Just the fact that Pareshan emphasises the need for money in the young protagonist's life is a testament to how close the film is to reality. Basically, money is the cause of all the Pareshan (trouble) here.

Pareshan ’s opening sequence—which can feel cluttered initially because there are too many things happening—establishes one point beautifully. On one hand, we see Tiger Seenanna, a local leader, protest against the liquor ban demanded by women (Remember Dasara ? This one is wacky in its treatment thought). On the other hand, we see Isaac's middle-aged father, working in the dark coal mines, share with his colleague that he dreams to bid adieu to his ‘black-collar’ job and instead join a local evangelist named Deevena Kumar, donning a coat, once his son settles down. The man sells the bangles of his wife to procure some money that he plans to use to get his son a job. You see, in both the threads, there’s an overarching theme: priorities. One man is fighting for alcohol while the other toils for a secure and peaceful life. 

The two elements introduced in the opening bits—alcohol and money—are the points that keep propelling the narrative forward. For instance, the film’s interval bang features Isaac waking up to learn that he lost his money when he was inebriated the previous night. Every time there’s a cause for celebration, drinking is the go-to option for Isaac and his friends, Maidhak, Pasha and Agam Satthi. When they are confronted with a major conflict, they resort to drinking to seek some comfort. The film doesn’t just portray alcohol as a one-stop solution but also as a reason for many of their problems. The film never romanticises alcohol; in fact, it only presents it as a normal part of this lifestyle. For instance, Tiger Seenanna casually asking an old woman in one of his pre-wedding ceremonies whether she had enough alcohol and encouraging her to have one more beer portrays how normal the consumption of alcohol is. Also, it represents the cultural fabric of this place, where a gang includes Hindus, Muslims and Christians, without ever making it a big deal or trying to grab our attention because that’s how reality is, simple.

Pareshan has some profound layering but it's not all serious and philosophical. It is one hell of a comic joyride with the oddball characters and weird situations offering plenty of rib-tickling amusements. The film wears its quirk and culture on its sleeve. For instance, the designations in the opening credits have a colloquial touch; ‘Additional Cinematographer’ is referred to as ‘Inkoka camera tho theesinodu (the one who shot with another camera)’. In the interval, the on-screen text reads ‘Poyi posukuni randi (Go, piss and come)’. The film leaves no opportunity to milk humour from its USP, its milieu. And of course, there are some incredibly hilarious stretches that make the most of its distinctive characters and weird situations. The stretch featuring Deevena Kumar’s worship song that mocks cheesy editing transitions is a riot. So is the slo-mo sequence in which Isaac is caught while performing a sound instrument in a funeral procession. And then to top it all off, there’s a shockingly dark but equally uproarious sequence involving an accident and a severed thumb. You see, there are no funny situations in the film; be it the stakes which are pretty high or the socioeconomic background the characters hail from, but the film still manages to be hysterical, thanks to its characters, the performances that bring them alive and the Yashwant Sagar’s fresh music that brims with buoyancy and life. 

While subtlety is not what Pareshan aims for, it does derive some of its strongest moments from the simplistic nature of the life it portrays, be it humour-wise or on the drama front. Rajitha, Sathi’s love interest angrily saying she avoids oil food because they cause pimples, only to get tempted and end up having a bit of hot Punugulu, is a lovely moment. “Samosa thintava, Sirisha?” asks a timid Isaac on one of their dates. The innocence and the sweetness these simple interactions are laced with manage to put a big smile on your face. While the film is decidedly simple and real in its aesthetic, cleverly dodging the temptation to beautify frames, Rupak and DOP Vasu Pendem flaunt their visual game in the music video-like picturisation of ‘Where What Why’, capturing the uncertainty and anxiety Isaac and Sirisha undergo.

There are some moments in Pareshan that have such a realistic touch that they make you wonder if the performers were cognisant about the fact that their actions are being captured on camera. In the climax, a ruckus ensues at a wedding, just when the guests are being served a grand dinner. The camera spends just a second capturing a person enjoying his Mutton piece, oblivious to the fact that men are indulging in a physical altercation right behind him. To me, that shot encapsulates the spirit of Pareshan . It’s a scream of a moment. But it’s also something that could possibly transpire in real life.

There is something rather beautifully unassuming and uncomplicated about young, male camaraderie — at least the cinema versions of it, though I am inclined to believe there is some verisimilitude to it all. A kind that is less likely to display their emotions, lest they risk being left out and ridiculed, are shown in a lighter mien with unbridled joy and empathy at the centre of it all. Despite the enduring presence of a kind of cinema that likes to tell stories of how men transform into beacons of warmth and emotional intelligence after they meet a woman or become a father, we also see how men possess the ability to be less inhibited and more in touch with their true(r) selves in the company of other similarly aged men. Though buddy comedies are not new, this genre’s jugalbandi with a deliberate and incisive pop-anthropology lens into the culture of Telangana, is a real-time journey of delights. Unlike last week’s Mem Famous , which shares some on-the-nose similarities with Pareshan (in a strictly categorical sense), the latter is straight-up jagged and unhinged, flowing free and hitting hard like the inexpensive alcohol that features so prominently throughout the film. Pareshan makes you tipsy, but it is also followed by hangovers, as moments of painful reflection lend a cutting contrast to its visuals of intoxication and madness.

Though one is tempted to drop film-bro jargon like mumblecore and cinema verite, Pareshan , really, is stylised chaos masquerading as realism. It is not a story about a singular character. However, it pivots around Isaac (Thiruveer, in a top-notch performance), who triggers the chain of, and resultantly, endures the most pareshani here. Nor is it a story about his quirk-by-the-bucketload buddy brundam RGV, Pasha, Sathi and Maidak. It is a story of everything above, beyond and between these people, betraying form and pace to showcase these men sans a key element Telugu cinema loves so much — glorification. There is a lot of pareshani here, in both its internal ( aagam ) and external ( lolli ) renditions. If the “ Naa saavu nenu sastha, neekenduku ” dialogue from Pelli Choopulu was stretched across time and space and wrapped around a motley bunch of individuals and one town, that film would be Pareshan . It takes a village to raise a child, or in this case, a band of idiots. For starters, these men do not share the  “ mustafa mustafa / yeh dosti hum nahi todenge ” kind of friendship. There is that, for sure, albeit with the sobering reminder that these men do not think twice before treating each other terribly. There is some manipulation that sets the tone right in the beginning, as Isaac uses the money his father got for arranging a job, to get his friend Pasha out on bail. That one, ill-thought act of charity morphs into multiple money problems, as a sold bike, another stolen bike, a demanding girlfriend, another pregnant girlfriend, and a father hell-bent on reforming his wayward son complicate things, as brawls and mandhu sittings, and sometimes both together, relentlessly ensue. There is no polite way of saying this, but the relationships between Sireesha and Isaac, and Sathi and Rajitha are a pitch-perfect representation of those young couples you saw on pre-pandemic tiktoks, whose utter naivete is a source of cruel humour for their more urbane, westernised counterparts. That said, beyond the packaging, these relationships do have conflicts any city-bred couple could also have (a girl talking about the difference between lip gloss and lip balm had me in splits). 

With more and more films highlighting the Telangana milieu at large, beyond the discourse of representation and the increased bankability of these stories, there is a pronounced tone of weltanschauung making its presence here in Pareshan , vis-a-vis its cultural representation. It is easy to dismiss people drinking here as an endorsement of unchecked debauchery, but Pareshan ’s Rupak Ronaldson has succeeded at scratching the surface to contextualise the whys and the whats, and the hows behind the way people of a certain demographic belonging to a certain region behave. How often do we run away when we are faced with a problem at hand? The flight or fight response of one's garden-variety anxiety takes literal dimensions here, with alcohol and brawls always coming in the way of Isaac taking charge of his own life. The biggest depiction of ‘youth culture’ is not in Pareshan’s display of binge drinking, but in Isaac’s key conflict which is relatable to many young folks. We don’t know what to make of our lives, yet we want to but we are also not ready to listen to someone, most likely our parents, telling us how to lead our lives. There is constant friction between our expectations of who we want to be, clashing head first with what our parents want for us. Sometimes, the kids win. Other times, the parents do. Pareshan does not give you closure in that regard, though Isaac emerges from the film with some clarity and due maturity, finally learning to practise healthy boundaries. 

The weltanschauung continues to reflect in moments that do not even factor themselves into the larger proceedings of the film. Between a stray shot of a chicken made to drink some booze seconds before slaughter, groups of people making choreographed content for a local cable channel, poignant shots of folks going into a coal mine via a cable chair, a boy continuously asking for a sanna-pinisu charger, a Telugu evangelist with his English interpreter and some delightfully colloquial intro, interval and exit credits — the film crafts a beautiful love letter to Mancherial and its people — warts and all. The cinematography, by Vasu Pendem, is audacious, in the way it frames its leads in certain scenes at the centre of the frame, alongside some cool frame-within-a-frame shots. The unchoreographed-choreographed fight scenes (the male equivalent of the no-makeup makeup look), shot with tactile handheld camera moments practically make you feel the sweat and the gashes forming on your arms, as you watch the film from your cushy seat. The music is another major winning factor in the film.

It is hard to wrap your thoughts on a film that has really just opened a world for you that begs to be explored even after the end credits have rolled. But if Spaghetti Westerns gets the first part of its name due to the sheer number of Italian filmmakers directing such movies, then it would be fair to anoint this emerging sub-genre of Telangana cinema as Mutton Curry Southerns.

ఇక కథలోకి వస్తే..ఐసాక్(తిరువీర్) తనతో తన ఫ్రెండ్స్ సత్తి, పాషా మైదక్ అలాగే ఆర్జీవీ లు సింగరేణి ప్రాంతంలో అల్లరి చిల్లరగా తిరుగుతూ ఉంటారు. అయితే ఈ అంతా కూడా తాగుడుకు బాగా బానిసలూ కాగా ఓ రోజు సత్తి, పాషా లకు అర్జెంట్ గా డబ్బు అవసరం పడడంతో ఐసాక్ తన తండ్రి డబ్బులు ఇస్తాడు. అలాగే మరోపక్క ఐసాక్, శిరీష(పావని కరణం) తో డీప్ లవ్ లో ఉంటాడు, అయితే వీరిద్దరూ శారీరకంగా కూడా ఒకటి కావడంతో ఆమె ప్రెగ్నెంట్ అయ్యినట్టుగా ఐసాక్ కి తెలుస్తుంది. మరి ఇలా తెలిసిన తర్వాత వారికి ఎదురైన ఇబ్బందులు ఏంటి? ఈ సమయంలో తన ఫ్రెండ్స్ ఏం చేశారు అనే ఇతర అంశాలు తెలియాలి అంటే ఈ చిత్రాన్ని చూడాల్సిందే.

ప్లస్ పాయింట్స్ :

రీసెంట్ టైం లో తెలంగాణా నేపథ్యంలో చాలా చిత్రాలు వస్తున్నాయి. ఆ కోవకి ఈ సినిమా కూడా చెందుతుంది అని చెప్పొచ్చు. అక్కడి ప్రాంతం మాటలు, పాటలు అంతా కూడా చక్కగా ఉంటాయి అలాగే ఈ అంశాలు తెలంగాణ ఆడియెన్స్ కి బాగా కనెక్ట్ కూడా అవ్వొచ్చు. అలాగే సినిమాలో కామెడి ట్రాక్స్ గాని సినిమాలో కొన్ని రొమాంటిక్ ట్రాక్ లు బాగున్నాయి.

అలాగే మెయిన్ లీడ్ మధ్య కెమిస్ట్రీ గాని ఆకట్టుకుంటాయి. అలాగే ఫస్టాఫ్ కాస్త ఎంగేజింగ్ గానే అనిపిస్తుంది. ఇక నటుడు తిరువీర్ అయితే ఇప్పుడిప్పుడే లైమ్ లైట్ లోకి వస్తున్నాడు. టక్ జగదీష్, మాసూద లో చాలా డిఫరెంట్ షేడ్ ఉన్న రోల్స్ చేసాడు. అలాగే ఈ చిత్రంలో కూడా పూర్తి డిఫరెంట్ రోల్ కాగా అందులో చాలా సెటిల్డ్ పెర్ఫామెన్స్ ని కనబరిచాడు. ముఖ్యంగా తన కామెడీ టైమింగ్ బాగుంది. ఇంకా తన ఫ్రెండ్స్ గా కనిపించిన వారు మంచి నటన కనబరిచారు.

మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ :

ఈ చిత్రంలో మైనస్ పాయింట్స్ విషయానికి వస్తే ఈ చిత్రంలో మరీ అంత గొప్ప స్టోరీ లైన్ ఏమీ కనిపించదు. చాలా సింపుల్ అండ్ రొటీన్ లైన్ కనిపిస్తుంది. పైగా కథనం కూడా చాలా రొటీన్ గానే కనిపిస్తుంది. కామెడీ ఉంది కానీ అది అన్ని చోట్లా ఆకట్టుకోదు. దీనితో సగం సినిమా బోర్ గానే సాగదీతగా అనిపిస్తుంది. ఇక మరికొన్ని కామెడీ సీన్స్ అయితే పెట్టారు కానీ అవి నవ్వు తెప్పించవు.

సెకండాఫ్ కూడా అంత ఇంపాక్ట్ కలిగించదు. అలాగే చాల సీన్స్ అయితే ఏదో కావాలని పెట్టె యత్నం చేశారు కానీ అవి కూడా ఆకట్టుకోవు. ఇంకా సెకండాఫ్ లో కొన్ని సీన్స్ ని కట్ చేసేయాల్సింది. అనవసర సీన్స్ ఎక్కువ ఉన్నట్టు అనిపిస్తాయి. అలాగే సినిమాలో మరో మేజర్ మైనస్ ఏదన్నా ఉంది అంటే సినిమాలో సరైన ఎమోషనల్ కంటెంట్ కూడా ఎక్కడ లేదు. దీనితో అయితే సినిమాలో సరైన ఎమోషన్ కూడా లేదు.

సాంకేతిక వర్గం :

ఈ సినిమా నిర్మాణ విలువలు బాగానే ఉన్నాయి. అలాగే టెక్నికల్ టీం విషయానికి వస్తే..యశ్వంత్ మ్యూజిక్ ఈ చిత్రానికి పెద్ద ఎసెట్ అని చెప్పొచ్చు. అలాగే వాసు సినిమాటోగ్రఫీ కూడా డీసెంట్ గా ఉంది. డైలాగ్స్ బాగున్నాయి. అలాగే ఎడిటింగ్ మాత్రం ఇంకా చేయాల్సింది. మెయిన్ గా సెకండాఫ్ లో. ఇక దర్శకుడు రూపక్ విషయానికి వస్త.. ఈ చిత్రానికి తాను పరవాలేదు అనిపిస్తాడు.సాధారణ లైన్ తోనే వచ్చిన అక్కడక్కడా కామెడీ నరేషన్ తో ఎంటర్టైన్ చేసే ప్రయత్నం అయితే చేశారు. కానీ ఇది పూర్తి స్థాయిలో ఆకట్టుకోదు. మెయిన్ గా సరైన ఎమోషన్స్ కూడా లేవు.

ఇక మొత్తంగా చూసినట్టు అయితే ఈ “పరేషాన్” చిత్రంలో అక్కడక్కడా కొన్ని కామెడీ పోర్షన్స్ వరకు పర్వాలేదనిపిస్తుంది. అలాగే తిరువీర్ మంచి నటన కనబరిచాడు. అయితే ఆసక్తిగా సాగని సెకండాఫ్, నవ్వు తెప్పించని కొన్ని కామెడీ సీన్స్ ఇరిటేట్ చేస్తాయి. దీనితో ఈ చిత్రం జస్ట్ రొటీన్ యావరేజ్ ఫ్లిక్ గా నిలిచిపోయింది.

‘Pareshan’ movie review: This Thiruveer outing is more ‘pareshan’ than entertaining 

Barring a few fun segments, ‘pareshan’ goes overboard in its stereotypical depiction of the lifestyle of rural telangana. thiruveer’s and pavani’s earnestness is the silver lining.

Early on in writer-director Rupak Ronaldson’s Telugu film Pareshan , a group of villagers in Mancherial, Telangana, try to film a video. A girl who is part of the cast is miffed with her boyfriend for not getting her the appropriate ‘lip blossom’ (lip gloss) and ‘googles’ (goggles) that will make her look glamorous on screen. This scene, the actors who bring alive the milieu and the humour hint at an indie-style entertainer. But soon, Pareshan opts for an indulgent depiction of alcohol-guzzling and meat-eating lifestyle of rural Telangana, which is becoming a stereotype. Buried under that depiction is a coming-of-age story of Isaac ( Thiruveer ), who goes from being a wastrel to finding purpose in life, and also wins the trust of his lady love Sirisha (Pavani).

The principal characters of Pareshan are individualistic and wacky as they come. Isaac’s father (Muralidhar Goud), after toiling for decades in the Singareni coal mines, wants an early retirement so that he can assist a local pastor in gospel sessions. He hopes that Isaac will take over his job as a miner. Isaac, however, has no such interest. Not that he has any other interest. He spends time with his friends Pasha, Satthi and a hairstylist who calls himself RGV since he is a huge fan of maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Isaac’s father entrusts his son with the task of handing over a considerable sum of money to a friend.

Cast: thiruveer, pavani karanam, bunny abiran, direction: rupak ronaldson, music: yashwanth nag, storyline: a comedy of errors involving four friends and their desperate need for money to tide over financial woes..

Everything that can go wrong does and a comedy of errors ensues. Several subplots involving each of the friends’ lives invariably add to the chaos and their mounting financial woes. The best thing about Pareshan is its indie style of filmmaking with actors who seem like they belong to the Mancherial village. The production design is without any cinematic frills, the dialect is on point and cinematographer Vasu Pendem does not gloss over the rural landscape. Several segments appear as though candidly filmed, with people talking and behaving like they would in real life.

The portions involving the pastor, with Muralidhar Goud confidently translating his lines to grammatically incorrect English, are fun and endearing to watch. This is an aspect of rural Telangana that has rarely been portrayed in mainstream Telugu cinema.

There are several threads to the main story that Pareshan could have explored — the son not wanting to do anything with the teaching of the gospel, the difference in faiths coming in between Isaac and Sirisha, and the police being hand-in-glove with those who threaten young lovers in the village, and so on. 

Pareshan keeps its focus on the friends and particularly Isaac’s hunt for the money he had lost. As the hunt gathers steam, there are occasional segments of hilarity. A particular incident involves a missing thumb. But mostly we see one beer- or alcohol-guzzling scene leading to another, which made me wonder how the friends had money for the indulgence. 

Thiruveer’s performance is convincing as a man caught in a mess. Pavani, who had appeared in a brief character as a cop in HIT 2 , goes for a close-to-real portrayal of an innocent young rural woman and does it well. The friends, too, befit their parts. Muralidhar Goud who has become a staple in Telangana stories does a fine job once again.

Yashwanth Nag’s score accentuates the rural lifestyle with all its quirkiness. The biggest letdown is the lack of a story that can make us stay invested in the plight of the characters. Two other significant Telugu films this year, Balagam and Dasara , also portrayed the rural Telangana lifestyle with alcohol and meat. Along with cultural specificity, those films used the booze and food as part of storylines with strong emotional heft, which is sorely missing in Pareshan .

Pareshan story is all about five friends and how they faced and dealt with their problems. Issac (Thiruveer), Pasha (Bunny Abiran), Satti (Arjun Krishna), RGV (Buddera Khan Ravi), and Mydhak(Raju Bedigala) are thick friends and go to any extent to help each other. But this results in a drastic change in their lives. To find out those changes how Sirisha (Pavani Karanam), Rajitha (Sai Prasanna), and Tiger Srinu (Anji Babu), watch Pareshan on the silver screen.

Pareshan Telugu Movie: Artists Review

Thiruveer played a completely different role in his film after scoring a hit with Masooda. Thiruveer lived in the character and he came up with a natural and realistic performance. Pavani Karanam who played the role of Thiruveer's love interest looked good on screen and complimented Thiruveer quite aptly.

Muralidhar Goud as the father of Thiruveer is realistic with his performance. Arjun Krishna, Buddera Khan Ravi, Raju Bedigala, Bunny Abiran played the roles of Thiruveer's friends. They performed well and the scenes featuring them came quite well. Most of the scenes featuring them are not only emotionally laced but also filled with humor.

Pareshan Telugu Movie: Technicians Review

Pareshan story readied by Rupak Ronaldson showed the lives of five friends and how their lives progressed, the problems faced by them, and how they overcame them. Rupak Ronaldson's story is nothing new but highlighted the Telangana culture. Right from the start till the finish, Rupak Ronaldson concentrated only on creating a laughing riot with the story in the backdrop of the Telangana rural region. Be it sentiment, comedy, and quarrels, he paid more attention to entertaining viewers.

His screenplay and direction followed the same pattern. However, in the process, he ended up repeating many scenes and this increased the routine flavor. Few scenes are dragged and the slow pace impacted the film's output. Dialogues penned by Anil Achugatla reflected the Telangana slang and highlighted them to the core. The culture is shown throughout the film and the mass elements entertain all.

Music tuned by Yashwant Nag is situational and all the songs are tuned in Telangana folk tunes and mass beats to delight all the people and turn them crazy. His background music is in sync with the storyline. The editing of Rupak Ronaldson, and Harishankar Tammirana could have been better throughout the film. The production values of Waltair Productions are good.

Pareshan Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Pareshan is a comic flick in Telangana's backdrop. Rupak Ronaldson showed Thiruveer in a completely different avatar in the film. While Rupak Ronaldson managed to create a few laughs in the film thanks to the dialogues and Telangana accent involved in it, the weak story undid his good work. The screenplay and direction are just ok. Rupak Ronaldson filled more than 3/4 of the film with drinking and boozing scenes and this may put off the family viewers.

The makers may defend themselves by saying this is the Telangana culture and they drink in happiness, sadness, and all other occasions to express their feelings. But they fail to realize that there are many other ways to highlight Telangana culture and score hits and all the people of the state do not spend most of their time drinking and quarreling.

Had Rupak Ronaldson, fine-tuned the story and worked on the script doing away with the repetitive scenes, Pareshan would have been shining. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.75 Rating for Pareshan .

రానా దగ్గుబాటి మరో చిన్న సినిమా సమర్పించాడు. దీనికి రూపక్ రోనాల్డ్సన్ కొత్త దర్శకుడు. ఇటీవలి హార్రర్ ‘మసూద’ హీరో తిరువీర్ ఇందులో కథానాయకుడు. తెలంగాణ నేపథ్యపు సినిమా. ఈ మధ్య తెలంగాణ నేపథ్యపు సినిమాలు బాగానే వస్తున్నాయి. అయితే వీటిని హిట్టయిన ‘జాతిరత్నాలు’ టైపులోనే తీస్తున్నారు. ఒక తెలంగాణ టౌను లేదా పల్లె, అక్కడ నల్గురు కుర్రాళ్ళు, వాళ్ళ కామెడీలు, అవే కథలూ వగైరా. ఇలాటి సినిమాలు తెలుగు మెయిన్ స్ట్రీమ్ సినిమాలుగా విపరీతంగా వచ్చేసి ఆ అధ్యాయం ముగిసిపోయింది. ముగిసి పోయిన మెయిన్ స్ట్రీమ్ అధ్యాయాన్ని తెలంగాణ సినిమా ఎత్తుకుంది. మొన్న విడుదలైన ‘మేమ్ ఫేమస్’ కూడా ఈ కోవకి చెందిందే. ఇప్పుడు ‘పరేషాన్’ దీని సరసన చేరింది. ఇలాటి సినిమాల్ని నిర్మాతల సొమ్ములు, ప్రేక్షకుల సమయం వృధా చేయాడానికే తీస్తున్నారేమో తెలీదు. ‘పారేషాన్’ కి ఇంతకి మించి వేరే ఆశయమున్నట్టు కనపడదు.

మంచిర్యాలలో ఐజాక్ (తిరువీర్) ఐటీఐ ఫెయిలై ఫ్రెండ్స్ తో తాగి ఆవారాగా తిరుగు తూంటాడు. ఇతడి తండ్రి సమర్పణ్ (మురళీధర్ గౌడ్) సింగరేణి ఉద్యోగి. ఈ తండ్రి ఆవారాగా తిరుగుతున్న కొడుక్కి తన ఉద్యోగం ఇప్పిద్దామని ఆఫీసర్ తో రెండు లక్షలకి మాట్లాడుకుంటాడు. ఆ డబ్బులు భార్య బంగారం అమ్మి కొడుకు చేతికిచ్చి, ఆఫీసర్ కి ఇమ్మంటాడు. ఇంతలో ఫ్రెండ్స్ కి ఏవో అవసరాలొచ్చి ఆ డబ్బు వాళ్ళ కిచ్చేస్తాడు కొడుకు ఐజాక్. ఇతడితో ప్రేమలో వున్న శిరీష (పావనీ కరణం) గర్భవతవుతుంది. టౌన్లో పరీక్షలు చేయిద్దామంటే ఐజాక్ దగ్గర డబ్బులుండవు. ఫ్రెండ్స్ ని అడిగితే ఇవ్వరు. ఇంతలో కొడుకు డబ్బు పాడు చేశాడని తండ్రికి తెలుస్తుంది. ఇప్పుడేం జరిగిందనేది మిగతా కథ.

ఎలావుంది కథ

పైన చెప్పుకున్నట్టు ఈ తెలంగాణ సినిమా కూడా ముగిసి పోయిన తెలుగు మెయిన్ స్ట్రీమ్ సినిమాల అధ్యాయాన్నే తిరిగి ప్రేక్షకులకి వడ్డించింది. అయితే తెలంగాణ యాసతో, తెలంగాణ పాత్రలతో, తెలంగాణ కల్చర్ తో తీసే ఇలాటి సినిమాలు కామెడీ ప్రధానంగా వుంటున్నాయి. ఈ సినిమాలో ఫస్టాఫ్ తర్వాత కామెడీ కూడా లేదు. కథలో విషయం లేక కామెడీ పుట్టలేదు. ఫస్టాఫ్ అంతా దాదాపు పాత్రల్ని పరిచయం చేయడానికే సరిపోయింది. ఈ పరిచయాల వరకే కామెడీ చేష్టలు సరిపోయాయి. తీరా కథలోకి ప్రవేశించాక- తండ్రి ఇచ్చిన డబ్బు తిరిగి హీరో ఫ్రెండ్స్ నుంచి వసూలు చేసుకునే కథే కావడంతో- సినిమాగా నిలబడడానికి కాన్ఫ్లిక్ట్ సరిపోక- కాన్ఫ్లిక్ట్ సరిపోక పోయేసరికి దాని తాలూకు కామెడీ లేక, సెకండాఫ్ ఎమోషనల్ డ్రామాలతో దారితప్పి భారంగా పరిణమించింది.

కథ లేనప్పుడు వున్న కథని కాంప్లికేట్ చేయాలన్నది హాలీవుడ్ పాటించే రూలు. పోను పోనూ కామెడీ కథని కామెడీతో పరమ సంక్లిష్టంగా మార్చేస్తూ, చివర్లో చిక్కు ముడి విప్పుతారు. ఈ సంక్లిష్టతకి, చిక్కుముడి సస్పెన్సుకి ప్రేక్షకులు సీట్లకి అతుక్కుపోయి కామెడీని ఎంజాయ్ చేస్తారు. ‘హేపీ భాగ్ జాయేగీ’ అని హిందీలో కథలేని కామెడీ సినిమాని ఇలాగే తీసి హిట్ చేశారు. రోహిత్ శెట్టి హిందీ ‘

ఉన్న కాన్ఫ్లిక్ట్ కూడా కథా సౌలభ్యం కోసం వుందే తప్ప కథలోంచి పుట్టలేదు. తాగి ఆవారాగా తిరిగే కొడుకుతో గొడవ పడే తండ్రి, అతడి చేతికే రెండు లక్షలిచ్చి ఆఫీసర్ కిచ్చి రమ్మనడమేమిటి?

కామెడీ అంటే జోకులు పేల్చడమే అన్నట్టుంది. యూత్ కోసం తీసిన ఈ సినిమాలోని జోకులకి యూత్ కైనా నవ్వొచ్చే పరిస్థితి లేదు. సెకండాఫ్ లో మాత్రం రెండు చోట్ల పిచ్చి జోకులు నవ్విస్తాయి. పోతే ‘దసరా’ లో లాగా ఈ సినిమాలో కూడా తాగుడు సీన్లు అదుపు తప్పాయి. సమస్య వచ్చినా, సంతోషమేసినా, డబ్బు లేకపోయినా తాగుడే. హీరో దగ్గర డబ్బు తీసుకున్న ఫ్రెండ్స్ ఆ రెండు లక్షలు తాగుడుకే పెట్టేసే కథ ఇది.

హీరోయిన్ తో ప్రేమ కథ కూడా కుదర్లేదు. హీరోతో ఒకసారి పడుకోగానే వెంటనే గర్భం వచ్చేసిందని కంగారు పడే సిల్లీ హీరోయిన్ పాత్ర. ఇది నమ్మి టెస్టుల కోసం డబ్బులేక పాట్లు పడే హీరో పాత్ర. లాజిక్ లేని కథ, లాజిక్ లేని పాత్రలు, సిల్లీ జోకులతో కామెడీ - ప్రేక్షలకి చాలా పరేషాన్!

నటనలు- సాంకేతికాలు

‘మసూద’ లో తిరువీర్ కీ, ‘పరేషాన్’ లో తిరువీర్ కీ పోలిక లేదు. ఇలాటి సినిమాలో నటించి తనకున్న ఫాలోయింగ్ ని దెబ్బ తీసుకోవడమే. తనని చూసి ఓపెనింగ్ కి వచ్చిన యువ ప్రేక్షకులు అసహనంతో ఈ సినిమా చూస్తున్న దృశ్యాలు థియేటర్లో కన్పిస్తాయి. దమ్ములేని సినిమాలో ‘మసూద’ లోలాంటి దమ్మున్న యాక్టింగ్ కి అవకాశం లేకుండా పోయింది. గెటప్ విషయంలో తీసుకున్న జాగ్రత్తలు మాత్రమే అతడ్ని చూసేలా చేస్తాయి.

హీరోయిన్లు పావనీ కరణం, సాయి ప్రసన్నల పాత్రలు, నటనలు జీరో అయినా వాళ్ళని తగినంత గ్లామరస్ గా చూపించడానికైనా ప్రొడక్షన్ విలువలు సరిపోలేదు. కెమెరా వర్క్, సంగీతం విఫలమయ్యాయి.

2019 లో సంపూర్ణేష్ బాబు నటించిన కామెడీ ‘కొబ్బరిమట్ట’ కి అసిస్టెంట్ గా పనిచేసిన దర్శకుడు రూపక్ రోనాల్డ్సన్ తన తొలి ప్రయత్నంతో ఎలాటి జాగ్రత్తలూ తీసుకోక పోవడం విచారకరం. లేకపోతే ముగిసిపోయిన ఇలాటి మెయిన్ స్ట్రీమ్ తెలుగు సినిమా అధ్యాయాన్ని రీసైక్లింగ్ చేస్తే తెలంగాణ సినిమా అయిపోతుందని నమ్మే దర్శకుల్లో తనూ ఒకడు కావడం నిజమైన కామెడీ అనుకోవాలేమో.

Pareshan review: A madcap village story with the right dose of humour

Though there is not much story, director Rupak Ronaldson succeeds in delivering what he promises — pure fun.

Like any other region, Telangana’s coal belt Mancherial has distinctive slang and culture which aren’t properly explored in mainstream cinema.

Although Nani’s Dasara’ partly mirrored the lives of the Singareni region, Rupak Ronaldson’s Pareshan (Troubled) depicts the village lifestyle marked with simplicity and fervour while bringing the native Telangana’s flavour to the fore.

Coal miner Samarpan (Muralidhar Goud) wishes to retire and pass on his job to his son Issac (Thiruveer). He would want to lead the latter part of his life spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Issac is an ITI dropout and wayward who likes to hang out with his bunch of good-for-nothing friends in the by-lanes of the sleepy town of Mancherial.

“Daawat” (feast) with friends is an everyday affair for him. And getting an earful from his father, too, is a daily routine. But he gives his heart out for friendship.

Troubles start pounding him one by one after he falls for a village girl Sirisha (Pavani Karanam), a Hindu. He then gets duped by his friends.

Issac gets sandwiched from all sides. Will he ever make it what his father wished him to become? — is the crux of the story.

Rural telangana in its true sense.

There is always a hidden beauty in presenting the clumsy-laidback lifestyle of the Singareni region on the screen.

When whacky comedy is added, the story only gets better. Director Rupak Ronaldson, who grew up in this milieu, perfectly portrayed the lifestyle, the culture and the people of this part of the Telangana region.

The characters are so natural that people would instantly relate to them — like Aagam Satthi (Arjun Krishna) who gets frightened following the death of his grandfather. But there is a sense of innocence and desperation as he seeks help from his friends.

At the same time, he becomes a laughing stock for the way he keeps asking “Sanna pinnu charger” (small-pin mobile charger) from every stranger he meets.

Another hilarious character in the line is Jeevan Kumar, a church pastor. Samarpan wants his son Issac to get trained by him.

Tiger Seenu is the one who projects himself to be the group leader/village head. But he’s dead scared when it comes to resolving the fights and petty issues concerning the youth.

There’s another character who evokes laughter just with his name — Maidhaku. People coin him the name when he fell into the compost pit full of Mehendi leaves.

Well, there’s “RGV” in the film. Played by Budderakhan Ravi, RGV is a local barber who abandons his works midway and gets immersed in watching his icon Ram Gopal Varma on his mobile.

Top-notch performances.

The performances in Pareshan are so realistic that you get submerged in the story.

Thiruveer has scored consecutive hits with his last outing Masooda (2022). With Pareshan , he is likely to win accolades.

Other characters like Pasha (Bunny Abhiran) and Sujatha (Shruthi Raayan) are impressive.

Muralidhar Goud plays a serious yet vexed father who keeps chiding his son Issac for his behaviour. His punches in the combination sequences with Thiruveer are pure fun to watch.

Actor Raju Bedigala’s supporting character in the film is a rib-tickling one. A YouTube sensation in the Telangana region, Raju puts up a good performance with his natural acting and mannerism of a typical Mancherial youngster.

Technical crafts.

The camera work from Vasu Pendem is convincingly good. The countryside beauty of the Singareni region — Ramarkrishnapur, Godhavarikhani, and Naspur — is well depicted in the film.

Songs run on the village theme are another attraction.

“ Musi Musi Navvula Oo Manjula …”, “ Sau Saa …” and “ Athara Buthara …” showcase the craziness and quirkiness of village characters in Pareshan .

Director Rupak Ronaldson has steered the ship well with the right dose of humour, although there is not much story in it.

The craziness and the quirkiness in the characters make Pareshan hilarious to watch.

Pareshan movie review

Story is set in Manchiryal – Telangana state. Samarpan (Muralidhar Goud) works as a daily wage worker in Singareni. He wants to hand over his job to his son Isaac (Thiruveer) and spend the rest of his life on Bible Preachings. He sells off the bangles of his wife to accommodate the money for the job transfer. Due to an unexpected incident, Isaac gives the money to his friend without the notice of his father. His friends fail to return back the money on time. During this time, Isaac falls in love with Sireesha (Pavani Karanam) in a marriage event. Sireesha also likes Isaac after which they get close physically. After this, Sireesha turns pregnant after which Isaac is left tensed. He tries hard to arrange money to elope with her but things turn worse. The rest of Pareshan is all about if Isaac comes out of all these hurdles and about his love story with Sireesha.

Pareshan is the story of four Telangana youngsters. The film lacks an interesting story and is moulded around a series of incidents. Pareshan is far from a regular concept or a story. The team aimed to entertain the audience and the director was successful in generating some laughs at times. But on the whole, Pareshan sounds like a silly attempt. Izaq gives the money to his friends who are not capable of returning back. The real story starts after they face the financial hurdles. Everyone is unemployed and are not serious about life. The director tried hard to generate smiles through the lead actor and his friends.

The police station episode in the first half sounds entertaining. Samarpan’s English translation of preachings generated good fun. There is also enough entertainment in the love story of lsaac and Sireesha. The first half of Pareshan is bearable but the second half fails to impress the audience. Lack of strong content makes the second half fall flat. The focus is completely on the youngsters instead of a strong plot. The love story between Izaq and Sireesha is completely ignored. There are lot of repeated scenes in the second half of the film. There are a lot of drinking scenes in the film and they may not cater to all the sections.

Performances:

Thiruveer is an actor with ease and he can emote well. He looked perfect in the role of Isaac and he looks innocent in the role. All his friends in the film are new and they have done justice for their roles. Pavani Karanam too looked apt in the role of Sireesha. Muralidhar, Tiger Srinanna and Pasha did their parts well as per their limitations and demand.

The music and the background score supported the film well. The songs are completely different. The cinematography work in Pareshan is good. The production values are restricted

Pareshan is focused just on entertainment and it lacks a strong story and script. Except for a few laughs, the film offers nothing.

కథలోకి వెళ్లితే ఆదిత్య (అల్లు శిరీష్) ఒక కమర్షియల్ పైలట్. ఎయిర్ ట్రాఫిక్ కంట్రోలర్ గా పని చెసే పల్లవి (గాయత్రి భరద్వాజ్) ని గొంతు మాత్రమే విని ఇష్టపడతాడు. పల్లవి కూడా ఆదిత్యని ప్రేమిస్తుంటుంది.

ఒక అనుకోని సంఘటనలో పల్లవి ప్రమాదంలో చిక్కుకుంటుంది. హాంగ్ కాంగ్ లో ఉండే ఒక క్రిమినల్ డాక్టర్ అర్జున్ (అజ్మల్ అమీర్) పల్లవిని కిడ్నాప్ చేయించి, కోమాలోకి నెట్టి హాంగ్ కాంగ్ తీసుకొస్తాడు. ఆమె అవయవాల్ని ఒక పెద్ద డాన్ కొడుక్కి అమర్చి, అతన్ని బతికించి వంద మిలియన్ డాలర్లు సంపాదించాలన్నది ఆ డాక్టర్ ఎత్తుగడ.

అయితే పల్లవిని కోమాలోకి పంపగానే ఆమె ఆత్మ ఒక టెడ్డీ బేర్ లోకి దూరుతుంది. అక్కడి నుంచి ఆ టెడ్డీ బేర్ కి, ఆదిత్యకి మధ్యన జరిగే డ్రామాతో చివరికి కథ క్లైమాక్సుకి చేరుతుంది. పల్లవి మళ్లీ తన శరీరాన్ని పొందుతుందా? ఆదిత్య ఈ క్రైం ని ఎలా ఛేదిస్తాడు.. అనేది తక్కిన కథాంశం.

అసలీ కథ తమిళంలో ఎందుకు ఆడిందో తెలియదు. ఎల్కేజీ నుంచి ఐదో క్లాస్ చదివే పిల్లలు దీనికి టార్గెట్ ఆడియన్స్ అనుకోవచ్చు. అయితే తీసిన విధానం, ఎక్కడా ఎమోషన్ పండని వైనం చూస్తే వాళ్లు కూడా “ఇదేం సినిమా” అంటారేమో అనేలా ఉంది.

కోమాలో ఉన్న వ్యక్తి ఆత్మ శరీరం విడిచి టెడ్డీ బేర్ లోకి వెళ్లడమేంటి? చనిపోతే వెళ్లిందనుకోవచ్చు! అయినా ఇలాంటివి హారర్ జానర్లో వర్కౌట్ అవుతాయి కానీ.. కామెడీకి, సెంటిమెంటుకి పని చెయ్యవు. పైగా ఇది సీరియస్ క్రైం యాక్షన్ గా నడుస్తుంటుంది.

ఇదంతా ఒకెత్తైతే టెడ్డీ బేర్ కి ఏదైనా బాధ కలిగితే కన్నీళ్లు మాత్రం కోమాలో ఉన్న పల్లవికి కారతాయి. అంటే ప్రాణం ఎక్కడున్నట్టు? అంతా అయోమయ గందరగోళం.

దీనికి తోడు పల్లవిగా ఉన్నంతవరకు పద్ధతిగా ఉండే అమ్మాయి, టెడ్డీ బేర్ లోకి దూరగానే కామెడీ చేస్తుంటుంది. ఈ షిఫ్ట్ ఏమిటో అర్ధం కాదు. కథనం రాసుకోవడంలోనే అపరిపక్వత తాండవించింది.

టెడ్డీ బేర్ కి ప్రాణం వచ్చి రోడ్ మీద తిరుగుతుంటే ఎవరూ ఆశ్చర్యపోరు. పైగా దగ్గరకొచ్చి సెల్ఫీలు అడుగుతారు. ఒక పిల్లాడైతే ఎటువంటి ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని వ్యక్తపరచకుండా చాలా కేజువల్ గా మాట్లాడుతూ ఫ్రెండైపోతాడు. మనిషి ఆత్మ టెడ్డీలో దూరడమేంటనే ప్రశ్న హీరో నుంచి కమెడియన్ వరకు ఎవ్వరూ వేసుకోరు. అది నేచురల్ అన్నట్టుగా బిహేవ్ చేస్తుంటాయి పాత్రలన్నీ.

కాన్-ఫ్లిక్ట్ పాయింట్ కూడా నేచురల్ గా వచ్చినట్టు కాకుండా బలవంతంగా ఉంది. బిజీ ఎయిర్పోర్టులో ఎయిర్ ట్రాఫిక్ కంట్రోల్ లో ఎవ్వరూ బ్యాకప్ లేకుండా ఇద్దరే పని చేస్తుండడం, సరిగ్గా అప్పుడే హీరో నడిపే విమానానికి ఇబ్బంది రావడం అస్సలు కన్విన్సింగ్ గా లేదు.

ప్రధమార్ధమంతా నీరసంగా సాగి ఏ మాత్రం గ్రిప్ లేని ఇంటర్వల్ సన్నివేశంతో బ్రేక్ పడుతుంది. ద్వితీయార్ధం చూడడానికి బలమైన హుక్ పాయింటే లేదు. అప్పటికి హీరోయిన్ సమస్యలో ఉన్నా, హీరో వెళ్లి కాపాడేస్తాడని అర్ధమవుతున్నా, ఎలా కాపడతాడో చూద్దామన్న ఉత్సుకత కలగదు.

ద్వితీయార్ధం కూడా సహన పరీక్ష పెడుతుంది. క్లైమాక్స్ లో విమానం ఫైట్ సీక్వెన్స్ రిచ్ గా తీసారు కానీ అప్పటికే నీరసించిన ప్రేక్షకులకి దానిని ఆస్వాదించే పరిస్థితి కనపడదు.

అల్లు శిరీష్ కి ఈ సినిమా ఏ రకంగానూ ఉపయోగపడదు. ఎందుకంటే అతని హీరోయిజం ఎస్టాబ్లిష్ కానే లేదు.

హీరోయిన్ సగం సినిమా టెడ్డీ బేర్ రూపంలోనే ఉంటుంది కనుక ఆమెకీ ప్లస్సయింది ఏమీ లేదు.

విలన్ గా అజ్మల్ అమీర్ రొటీన్ గా ఉన్నాడు.

ముకేష్ రిషి పాత్ర కూడా ఏ మాత్రం హత్తుకోదు.

నేపథ్య సంగీతం బలహీనంగా ఉంది. పాటలు అకట్టుకునేలా లేవు. ఇతర సాంకేతిక విలువలు ఓకే.

ఎలా చూసుకున్నా ఈ చిత్రం చాలా ఎమెచ్యూర్ గా ఉంది. దర్శకుడికి నెట్ ప్రాక్టీస్ కోసం సరదాగా తీసిన సినిమాలా ఉంది తప్ప ఎక్కడా ప్రేక్షకుల స్టాండర్డ్స్ ని దృష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని తీసినట్టు లేదు. రెండుంపావు గంటల సేపు ప్రేక్షకుల సహనంతో కబడ్డీ ఆడుకున్న చిత్రమిది.

What’s it about?

In a village in Telangana’s coal mine area, a group of friends, mostly irresponsible youngsters with no proper educational qualifications and no jobs, find any excuse to drink beer. Among these friends, Isaac (Thiruveer) is the slightly more educated one.

Isaac’s father (Muralidhar Goud) intends to take early retirement from his mining job in order to become a gospel teacher. His dad wants him to take over his job. He puts money aside and then has Isaac give it to a person who helps them land this job. But, Isaac uses Rs 50,000 to free his friend Pasha from a police case. 

Isaac and his girlfriend Sirisha, on the other hand, have sex one day. Sirisha believes she is pregnant because she vomits the next day. Tensed Isaac plans to have her aborted, but his friends refuse to repay the money, and more financial problems pile up, leaving him in even more pareshan. Will he ever be able to get his money?

There has been a recent trend among filmmakers to place their stories in a rural Telangana setting and narrate their wafer-thin plots with a few random jokes. Last week, we have seen “Mem Famous” which had similar problem of no cohesive story setting. This week, it is the case of “Pareshan”.

Mancherial and surrounding areas are backdrop for this film’s storyline. Under the guise of depicting small-town life and rural culture, the film consists primarily of cutaways from one drinking scene to another and a couple of funny incidents.

The plot hinges on the protagonist getting back Rs 50,000 from his friends who spent it. Three friends—a married man who has no job, a lover boy who can’t even sign his own name, and a funny man constantly roams on bike—claim they are broke. However, they spend days and nights chugging beer from cans. The cost of these beverages alone exceeds what the protagonist is attempting to recoup.

The entire film consists of these drinking scenes. In between these sections, the film features songs with terrible lyrics. Tiruveer and Pavani Karanam’s love story seems to have been lifted straight out of a different jamana (era). There is no sense of contemporaneity in the film at all.

Only in its depiction of Christian gospel and suvartha songs does the director Rupak Ronaldson’s narration add any real sense of freshness.

Tiruveer plays his role with sincerity. Pavani fits the role. Muralidhar Gowd as protagonist’s father shines again. Music is forgettable.

Bottom line: “Pareshan” is another film that tries to cash in on the rural Telangana comedy trend but offers nothing new. Except for a few laughs, this film has a hollow story and shallow narration. Utter crap, hare-brained attempt.

Who Is Telugu Filmmaker in Casting Couch?

Senior actress Mita Vasisht shared her experience with the casting couch, revealing that a Telugu filmmaker once demanded her to live with him for two months in return for a lead role in his film. 

During an interview with a Bollywood media house, Mita recounted that the filmmaker blocked the door when she attempted to leave after the indecent proposal.

She managed to escape by laughing, which caught him off guard and allowed her to get away.

Now the question is, who is that Telugu filmmaker?

The point of the matter is that she is 56 years old now, so the episode she is referring to likely dates back to the early 2000s or even before. 

However, she has not acted in any Telugu films to make any specific filmmaker a suspect. She might have come only for some audition.

She has not provided any timelines or hints. Therefore, the identity of the filmmaker remains a matter of public speculation.
