Whether you’re a longtime comic book aficionado or just dipping your toes into the world of comics (don’t be intimidated! lots of us are nice!), you might be surprised by how many resources there are to read comics online for free. Free and legal, that’s what we like to hear!

Graphite Comics

Orange and Pink Graphite Comics Logo Image https://www.graphitecomics.com/register AND https://www.facebook.com/graphitecomics/photos/a.525908858082520/348905935782814 (edited into composite in canva)

I stumbled across this site recently by chance and was floored by the amount of comics and graphic novels I recognized from my own TBR — including some, like Steampunk Snow Queen , which I was unable to find through any other legal comic sites. A number of Boom, Valiant, and Dark Horse comics are available on Graphite for free reading. Get started with your free comics reading with Slam! The Next Jam , Divinity , Ladycastle , Lumberjanes , or Goldie Vance .

Blue Hoopla logo https://www.franklinsquarepl.org/elibrary/hoopla/

Got a library card? Well then chances are you have access to an incredible database of comics and graphic novels (not to mention ebooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, and music) from Hoopla. This is one of my personal favorites when it comes to reading comics because the app is so easy to use and has an absolutely massive database of comics and graphic novels to search through. I’m not even going to bother listing suggestions on where to start with Hoopla because chances are if you’ve got a comics TBR list then you’ll find one of your picks here.

Bright Yellow Tapas Logo featuring little food-shaped shadowcreatures riding chicks in black outline https://tapas.io/ (logo images edited into composite on canva)

If you’re experience with reading comics comes primarily from the major publishers like Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, etc., you might not have tried your hand at webcomics. But you should! Independent and up-and-coming creators publish their comics online on places like Tapas.io, giving readers everywhere a chance to fall in love with their work. It’s not uncommon for stories that begin as webcomics to be published in physical form later on, too. Think Nimona , Mooncakes , Fangs , and Heartstopper .

Where should you start? A few of my personal recommendations for great webcomics on Tapas include Cosmoknights for sci-fi fans, Gutless for some mermaid/princess/knight fantasy romps, and Underforest Tales for some adorable slice-of-life comics with a cottagecore aesthetic. You can find lots of recommendation lists for specific genres online like spooky SFF webcomics , LGBTQ webcomics , and webcomics for newcomer s. You can also sort comics by genre to find exactly what you’re looking for on the Tapas app/website. Basically what I’m saying is, what are you waiting for? Go on over and start exploring.

Marvel: Get Started With Free Issues

Red and White Marvel Text Logo next to the phrase

Get access to first issues of a number of Marvel comics for free over on this section of Marvel’s website. If you’re looking for an introduction to Marvel series, this could be a good place to start. Certainly not comprehensive, but you can find a number of great issues of Immortal Hulk , Uncanny X-Men , Shuri , The Might Thor , The Life of Captain Marvel , and Venom just to name a few. Not as comprehensive as some of the other sites and apps mentioned on this list, but if you’re a Marvel fan it’s still worth checking out.

DC Universe Infinite

Blue DC Universe Infinite Logo https://www.dcuniverseinfinite.com/collections/free-to-read-row

Under the “Free to Read” section of DC Universe Infinite, you can find issues new and old releases alike. The list of available comics seems to change, so keep an eye on the site to see what’s available. Right now you can check out the first issue of Sweet Tooth as well as CatWoman/Tweety and Sylvester . It may not be a vast selection, but hey it’s free!

Barnes & Noble Free NOOK Ebooks

Forest Green Barnes and Noble Logo https://dispatch.barnesandnoble.com/content/dam/ccr/social/BN_facebook_1200x630.jpg

Exactly as advertised: this is a section of the Barnes & Noble website where you can find a selection of their nook ebook comics and graphic novels available for free. That’s not a bad deal! A surprisingly large number of DC works are on offer including Superman Smashes the Clan , Supergirl: Being Super , and DC Universe Rebirth Batman . Other imprints like IDW and First Second appeared under the Graphic Novels & Comics Ebooks tab. Most of the downloads are just sneak peaks or previews, but others include an issue or two so it’s definitely worth checking out. You just have to be willing to do some scrolling to find the hidden gems.

Vibrant Green Web Toon Logo https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.naver.linewebtoon&hl=en_US&gl=US (edited in canva)

Even more free webcomics to keep you busy and entertained! Like Tapas, WEBTOON can be accessed through the web or through an app and boasts a variety of incredible comics you can read online for free. Be sure to check out Lore Olympus , which is also being published by Del Rey Books later this year.

Digital Comic Museum & Comic Book Plus

Yellow Comic Book + Header Image https://comicbookplus.com/ (edited in canva)

I’ve grouped these two together because though they may contain slightly different content, their selection is aimed at the same thing: to provide access to a huge variety of Golden and Silver Age comics in the public domain. Will you recognize most of these titles? Probably not. But if you’re looking for some lesser-known vintage comics reading or in search of a particular out of print issue, you might just find what you’re after here.

Comixology Free Comics

Teal Blue Comixology

Although Comixology is a paid comic subscription database through Amazon, the app also offers a number of comics and graphic novels for free download. A quick perusal revealed a number of gems like Lady Mechanika , Black Panther , Faith vol 1 , and The Walking Dead available for free.

Plum Colored Header featuring the Blue Libby logo alongside a cartoon imagine of a head just poking over an open book https://www.overdrive.com/apps/libby/ AND https://resources.overdrive.com/library/marketing-outreach-community/libby-website-assets/ (edited together into composite image in canva)

Did I already mention how useful it is to have a library card? In addition to the comics and graphic novels you’ll find on the shelves at your local library, most libraries also provide patrons with a number of other apps and databases you can access from the comfort of your home. Like Hoopla, Libby is an app offering countless ebooks, audiobooks, and comics to check out through your phone. You can even save and tag titles you want to read later for easy searches.

The selection changes based on the specific database used by your local library, but every single one I’ve used has kept me entertained with great new (and old) comics and graphic novels to read. And it’s all available for free! Thank goodness for libraries.

These are some of my favorite resources to read comics online for free. They’ve served me well over the years, and now I hope they’ll help you dive even deeper into the world of comics and graphic novels, too. Happy reading!

The Best Free Comic Book Sites and Apps in 2024

Check out these places to read free comics online.

Rosie Knight Avatar

Comics have been bringing joy to people for over a century, but how we read them is always changing. Whether it was the change from buying comics at newsstands to having a pull list at your local comic shop, reading single issues and transitioning into picking up trade collections or graphic novels instead, there's always been many ways to enjoy comics. Now thanks to the internet there are even more ways to find new favorites and many of those spaces also offer the ability to read comics for free! From library apps to comics companies there are a ton of places to get your comics fix without paying a penny and we've curated a list of the ten best ones here for 2024!.

Each of the sites and apps below offer some sort of version of free comics and graphic novels you can read online.

Kindle Unlimited

Kindle Unlimited

free graphic novel book websites

The easiest to navigate — and most used — service on our list is Webtoon . The app and desktop version of the platform are great and feature an unmatched selection of free comics. While you won't find all of your standard comic shop heroes here, Webtoon offers stories in all genres, with over 1 million titles to explore. Fantastic horror comics that have inspired hit Netflix shows like Hellbound sit alongside delightful romance smashes like Lore Olympus, and DC Comics biggest hit in years Wayne Family Adventures originated here just like the now New York Times bestselling fantasy Lore Olympus. Webtoon has revolutionized the way people access and make comics and it is completely free. While users can pay to read extra chapters or new entries quicker than usual, you can use Webtoon and access its massive catalog without ever spending a cent. As well as the great selection you'll quickly lose yourself in the platform's infinite scroll format that allows you to easily read comics on your phone or iPad.

free graphic novel book websites

Our next recommendation is the brilliant library app Hoopla . The only caveat is that you will have to get or have a library card — which you can get at your local library or online — but it's a worthwhile effort for the massive catalog of comics, audiobooks, and novels you can access. Along with iconic series like Invincible and collected editions of Y the Last Man , Hoopla also offers up weekly new comics from publishers like Archie Comics and IDW. Their vast library includes thousands of books that are super easy to read on your phone or tablet. Hoopla also has an impressive movie catalog of on demand films and if you get a library card for Hoopla you can access other video rental services like Kanopy. When it comes to scope and selection there's no better free way to keep up with your favorite comics than Hoopla.

free graphic novel book websites

The Viz website is a treasure trove of free comics offering the opening chapters of an eclectic array of beloved Shonen Jump and Viz titles to read. The site currently offers access to a ton of their biggest manga including My Hero Academia , Demon Slayer , One Punch Man, The Legend of Zelda, Assination Classroom, Choujin X and many more. They also have a great selection of seinen and shoujo series available too like Maison Ikkuko, Skip・Beat!, and Fushigi Yügi. This is a really easy way to try out new series or revisit old favorites before deciding whether or not you want to commit. And the interface is really easy to navigate on the desktop. If you prefer to read your comics on an app Viz also has an app that allows you to read free chapters that includes over 10,000 comics but access to that full catalog will run you $1.99 a month. But you can currently get a free seven day trial before subscribing letting you read all those sweet hits.

Shonen Jump

free graphic novel book websites

Weekly Shonen Jump was a trailblazer in the manga app game with their app launching with an impressive $1.99 price tag. Now it costs $2.99 a month, but the reason we're bringing it up here is because if you download the app you can access multiple chapters for free without a paid subscription. The great thing about this app — and the Viz one — is that it updates weekly with new chapters. Titles like Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, Dragon Ball Super, and One Piece are all available on the same day that they release in Japan, and if you want to know some of the free comics you can access they include smash hits like Chainsaw Man, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, Kaiju No 8 and all have multiple chapters available to free members.

See more of the best free manga websites .

free graphic novel book websites

Though you might not realize it, the Marvel website doesn't just have in-depth editorials and explainers about your favorite heroes, it also features a selection of free comics you can read. While the titles are far harder to find than on the Viz site, if you're a keen lover of Spider-Man, the X-Men , and other Marvel heroes it's worth the google search to find them (we of course have linked to the correct page above). Right now you can read almost fifty free Marvel comics that run from exciting number ones like Venom, Giant-Size X-Men and Thanos to Free Comic Book Issues and even entertainingly weird promotional books the company has made for licensors and corporations like Lexus and Ford. Though it's not an extensive collection there are some great titles here that can help you get to know some of your fave heroes a little better.

DC Universe Infinite

free graphic novel book websites

The DC Universe membership gives you access to thousands of comics for $7.99 a month. But what you might not know is that the desktop version of the site also allows you to read Free Comic Book Day issues from the publisher. The lineup of free comics changes but currently they have a selection of 13 books you can read including Batman comics , Suicide Squad: King Shark, and Wonder Woman: Rebirth. It's a small selection but definitely worth checking out if you love the infamous villains and beloved heroes on DC's roster. Plus if you want to read more they currently offer a seven day free trial that allows you access to the entire catalog!

Dark Horse Comics

free graphic novel book websites

Another unexpected place that you can find some great single issue digital comics is the Dark Horse website . Their free comics hub currently boasts over 100 comics , which is more than both of its big two competitors. That library includes titles like Hellboy, Mass Effect, Overwatch, Umbrella Academy, and Stranger Things. More akin to the Marvel library this includes Free Comic Book Day books alongside regular issues and tie-ins. The only catch is that you need to make a free account to access the books, it's definitely worth it though as you can actually download the issues to read offline as well as just reading them in the browser.

Barnes & Noble

free graphic novel book websites

One of the most well kept secrets when it comes to legal ways to read free comics is the Barnes & Noble website . If you download the Nook app to your favorite device you can download and access almost 1000 comics spanning the gamut from fantasy manga to DC superheroes. Whether you're looking for YA comics like Raven Loves Beast Boy and The Nightmare Before Christmas: Zero's Journey or full issues of series like Batman and Countdown to Infinite Crisis, Barnes & Noble has a surprisingly eclectic collection. And if you want manga then you'll be happy with the extensive supply of lesser known titles that you can access for free.

free graphic novel book websites

There are 100s of free comics to read on comixology though to find them you'll have to search "Free Comic Book Day" once you're on the site. The good news is that not only do they have an extensive collection of FCBD books including titles from Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, and more but you'll also find other gems hidden in the results. Some of the current standouts include Marvel Voices #1, the first appearance of in Detective Comics #27, Fatale #1, and Chrononauts #1. Just make sure that you're "buying" the ones that don't say Kindle Unlimited underneath. Comixology also means that you download the comics and can read them offline. Though it is a little bit more work you can build an impressive library of digital comics through Comixology.

free graphic novel book websites

Our final entry takes us back into the web comics space. Tapas has a ton of original comics by a variety of independent creators, and while like Webtoon they put some chapters behind a paywall you can generally explore and read most of the titles and chapters for free. Some of the most popular series there right now include The Witch's Throne, Torte and Lacey, and The Beginning After the End. While you're not going to find characters you already know here you may well discover some new favorites and expand your comics reading horizons.

What's The Best Site for Free Manga?

Although there are quite a few places to read free manga online, the absolute best site is Viz.com . It's a great place to get access to free My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, One Punch Man comics. Our other recommendation would be Shonen Jump, which allows you to access free chapters when you buy the app.

Whether you want to enjoy Prime Video or super-speedy delivery, there are lots of benefits to using Amazon Prime. One you might not know about, however, is Prime Reading, which lets you read an extensive library of ebooks absolutely free.

You don't even need a Kindle, as you can simply download a reading app onto your smartphone or tablet. Prime Reading has something for everyone—including comic book fans. But with so much content to choose from, where to start? Here are 20 great graphic novels you can enjoy through Prime.

1. The Essential Calvin and Hobbes

Bill Waterson's much-loved comic creations, Calvin and Hobbes, have entertained thousands of people all over the world.

This Treasury brings together the first two Calvin and Hobbes collections, Calvin and Hobbes and Something Under The Bed Is Drooling. While it includes black-and-white daily strips and color strips from Sunday publications, it's optimized for viewing on color tablets.

2. Attack on Titan Vol. 1

A rare complete manga book available through Prime Reading, Attack on Titan is also one of the medium's strongest.

Seemingly-unintelligent Titans roam Earth, killing everyone they come into contact with. What's left of humanity is shielded behind 100-meter walls. But they won't last much longer. If you love post-apocalyptic stories, this is the book for you.

3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier

The 2014 movie, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, is surely one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe's (MCU) strongest entries. With this as its inspiration, it's absolutely no wonder.

Written by the daring Ed Brubaker, these opening seven issues deliver plenty of shocks, reintroduces James Buchanan "Bucky" Barnes, and once more elevates Steve Rogers to his absolute best.

4. Captain Marvel: Higher, Further, Faster, More

And now to another superhero Captain! Carol Danvers reaches new heights here, fully embracing the Captain Marvel name formerly used by her predecessor, the Kree Mar-Vell.

Brie Larson plays Danvers in the MCU, and takes her "higher, further, faster" motto from this collection. The story reaffirms Captain Marvel's incredible interstellar scope—and her humanity, doubly noticeable as she tries to reunite an alien girl with her family.

5. The Complete Peanuts Vol. 1: 1950-1952

Good grief! Charlie Brown and friends have rightly become giants of the comic strip world, and this is how it all started.

It's an absolute joy to see the genesis of Charles Schultz's beloved characters, and even in those early days he manages to capture the lovely little moments in our lives with a sterling dry wit.

6. Batman: Year One

Anyone who's read Daredevil: Born Again will know what a master team Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli form. In Batman: Year One, they give DC fans a definitive origin for Brice Wayne. Miller's writing is exceptional, but it's Mazzucchelli's ingenious page layouts that make this such a satisfying read.

It's moody and dark. It's clever and innovative. It's everything you want from a Batman story.

7. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Avenger

Rewind a decade and few would know the names Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax. Thanks to their on-screen exploits, everyone knows the Guardians of the Galaxy now, and if you're new to the cosmic comics, this is a solid place to start.

This is a fun read, with gorgeous art—and added Iron Man!

8. The Amazing Spider-Man: The Parker Luck

Following the divisive Superior Spider-Man, The Parker Luck establishes a new status-quo for the webslinger.

Peter Parker must deal with the consequences of Doctor Octopus stealing his body, which means troubles with his home life, his love life, and his time as Spidey. Plus, Electro and the Black Cat are out for revenge.

9.  Chew: Taster's Choice

This is an unusual comic: Detective Tony Chu is Cibopathic, meaning he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. Which makes him rather good at his job. In a disgusting way.

But this manages to toe the line really well, being engaging, funny, and also surprisingly eye-opening. It's definitely worth checking out on Prime Reading .

10. The Walking Dead: Days Gone Bye

The Walking Dead is now one of the best-known zombie franchises, thanks to the TV adaptation of this excellent comic series.

Days Gone Bye collects the first six issues, introducing this horrifying dystopia as Rick Grimes wakes from a coma to find the walking dead at the door and his family gone. There are gruesome parts, but it's an adrenaline rush and really makes you care about the ragtag bunch he teams up with.

11. World War Hulk

art by john romita jr

The Hulk's "friends" teamed up and shot him into space, in a last-ditch attempt to stop his rampages from affecting mankind. But now he's found his way back to Earth and this collision course will set him up against the Avengers. Can they really hope to stop the strongest one there is?

Greg Pak tells a powerful story in all senses of the word. And John Romita Jr's astonishing art practically pops out from the page. A scarily good read.

12. The Incal Vol. 1: The Black Incal

Moebius is a comic legend, and nowhere is this more evident than in The Incal, his science fiction/fantasy masterstroke written by Alejandro Jodorowsky.

The French book is widely considered an instant classic. While its story is certainly a solid and enjoyable one, it's arguably Moebius' innovative artwork that makes this stand out.

13.  The Tenth Doctor: Revolutions of Terror

Fans of the British sci-fi show, Doctor Who, will love catching up with David Tennant's Tenth Doctor again in this fun collection.

Written by Nick Abadzis (Laika) with art by Elena Casagrande (Black Widow) and Arianna Florean (G.I. Joe: Cobra), Revolutions of Terror welcomes in new companion, Gabby Gonzalez, an artist whose work then influences how the series unfolds. It's a breath of fresh air, and an utter joy.

14. Thor and Loki: Blood Brothers

The God of Thunder and the God of Mischief. Brothers. Rivals. Thor always ends up on top though, right?

Not this time. Loki is now King of Asgard. His brother is in chains. So what does Loki actually want? What do you do when you've achieved your life's goal? What's next when you've previously defined yourself as the opposition to whoever's in power? Rob Rodi (Journey Into Mystery) and Esad Ribic (Eternals) find out.

15. Criminal: Coward

Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips' creator-owned title, Criminal, is a thrilling noir anthology in a shared world that's brutal, bloody, and thoroughly compelling.

Coward follows pickpocket and legendary heist-planner, Leo, as he gets caught up in a scheme that draws the attention of the police—and forces him into a life on the run from the law.

16. Skyward

20 years ago, Earth's gravity shifted, and humanity had to find a way to live in an upside-down world where a single jump could accidentally send you into the upper atmosphere.

Enter Willa Fowler, a normal girl who loves this crazy planet with no horizons; and whose father has a secret plan to bring everyone crashing back to terra firma.

17.  Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet

Award-winning writer, Ta-Nehisi Coates (Between the World and Me), guides T'Challa through a Wakanda gripped by civil war.

The African nation has kept itself to itself for so long, but now that violent uprisings threaten its monarchy and its people, how can the Black Panther stop Wakanda from eating itself? And what role does T'Challa's sister, Shuri, play in this affair, now that she's back from the land of the dead?

18. Unity Vol. 1: To Kill A King

For anyone unfamiliar with the publisher, Valiant, this book brings together its top heavy-hitters and unites them in an epic battle against a power that threatens all modern society.

While it's actually the culmination of numerous Valiant narratives, Unity remains a strong story with plenty of twists and enough excitement to make you consider splashing out on subsequent volumes. You can find them on Amazon or through a similar service like ComiXology.

19. Star Wars: Skywalker Strikes

Want to get transported back to the 1970s and immerse yourself in the worlds of Star Wars once more? Skywalker Strikes kicks off a new volume of stories set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back.

Writer, Jason Aaron (Heroes Reborn), teams up with John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men) to deliver more exciting adventures for Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2D2, C3PO, and all your other favorites from a galaxy far, far away.

20. The Amazing Spider-Man Masterworks

Finish off your Prime Reading marathon by revisiting the greatest origin story ever told. Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider and gets the proportionate strength and agility of an arachnid.

His own selfishness results in the death of his beloved Uncle Ben and culture was changed forever. Remember: with great power, there must also come great responsibility.

What Is Your Favorite Graphic Novel?

You might have noticed that many of the titles here are Marvel. The publishing giant has captured the market here, delivering a load of free reads that'll hook you into buying subsequent stories.

It's a great marketing strategy. You can't argue with reading comics for free. If you discover a new favorite character or creative team in the process, then that's even better.

There’s so much to do in the D.C. area in the coming days, and WTOP has you covered with our weekly roundup of area events worth anticipating.

Check back every Thursday for a roundup of  Things to do in the D.C. area .

The Africa World Art Gallery in Washington is hosting an exhibition that celebrates the launch of the graphic novel, “Civil: The World of Bayard Rustin,” which is focused on Bayard Rustin, who was a mentor to Martin Luther King, Jr. and a driving force behind the civil rights movement.

The exhibition features more than 20 ink and acrylic illustrations from renowned artist Alan Saint Clark. The graphic novel, written by historian and founder of Bayard Rustin Symposium Anna Bergman, shares the story and writings of Rustin.

Rustin is known for co-organizing the “Journey of Reconciliation” — an interracial freedom ride — that was used as a model for the Freedom Rides of the 1960s. He was posthumously presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom by former President Barack Obama. In 2023, he was also the subject of the Netflix drama “Rustin.”

In an interview with WTOP, Clark said, “The book is our earnest attempt at trying to maintain a history that is inviting … We are also part of a community making sure history does not die.”

The exhibition, “Civil: The World of Bayard Rustin,” runs through Aug. 25 at the first floor at 2311 Calvert St. NW at D.C.’s Africa World Art Gallery.

Here’s what else is happening in the D.C. area:

Family Is a Lot of Trouble in August’s Graphic Novels

Generational connections — and divides — abound in four new volumes that take vastly different approaches to storytelling.

The warp and weft of a single life is impossible to describe because there’s no such thing as a single life. Perhaps that’s why family stories are such a satisfying microcosm — they ask us not to consider one person’s vast depths, but to think about how a collection of people form and change one another over their shared lives.

The people in Sole Otero’s remarkable MOTHBALLS (Fantagraphics, 336 pp., $29.99) are so simply delineated that their facial features are almost individual characters. Our narrator, Rocío, has a gap in her teeth that sometimes makes her mouth into an inside-out Q; her tragic great-uncle Antonio’s hairline is a pair of conjoined W’s. But their interlocking lives are complex in inverse proportion to their visual simplicity, as are the amazing architectural habitats and panel layouts Otero has designed for them to live in during their triumphs and miseries.

In two pages of a graphic novel, multiple scenes play out on an outdoor patio with blue tiles. A woman and a child, at various stages of their lives, are engaged in different conversations with the text written in cursive.

The most vivid character in “Mothballs” is Rocío’s estranged grandmother, Vilma, whose funeral opens the book. Vilma’s life is a sweeping melodrama that crosses generations, but that story is framed as Rocío’s recollection as she moves into her grandmother’s old house and tries to get acquainted with now-unfamiliar surroundings. The huge changes of Vilma’s life accrete into a family history, and little incidents in Ro’s sections form parallels. Beneath it all lurks Vilma’s possibly literal ghost.

The spirit of the great anarchic underground cartoonist S. Clay Wilson is alive and well in Leo Fox’s BOY ISLAND (Silver Sprocket, 168 pp., $29.99) , where family is also important, but in far wilder ways. Fox’s book is a parable about identity and transition, and while he writes dialogue that sounds so real it could have been lifted from a supper-table argument, his imagery is ferociously imaginative. The book follows Lucille, who realizes he is a boy and must leave his mother and Girl Island for Boy Island, two places that were once one. His head looks like a blue executioner’s mask covered in spikes, but he is tenderhearted; when he finally confronts Fairy, the butterfly-winged spirit of conformity, conservatism and oppression, he confusedly accepts Fairy’s invitation to come inside and have a cup of tea and talk things through.
