Privacy - how are the recordings and results handled?

• No human in the loop. No passing your recording between PCs, emails, employees, etc.
• Secure encrypted communications (https) with and between our servers.
• Recordings are automatically deleted from our servers as soon as the transcription is done.
• Our contract with Google / Microsoft (our speech engines providers) prohibits them from keeping any audio or results.
• Transcription results are securely kept on our secure database. Only you have access to them - only if you sign in (or provide your secret credentials through the API)
• You may choose to delete the transcription results - once you do - no copy remains on our servers.

For dictation, the recording & recognition - is delegated to and done by the browser (Chrome / Edge) or operating system (Android). So, we never even have access to the recorded audio, and Edge's / Chrome's / Android's (depending the one you use) privacy policy apply here.

As we showed you earlier this morning, Russia appears to be building defensive structures around 17 kilometres (10.5 miles) north of Ukraine's furthest position in the Kursk region.

Now, it appears that Russia is advertising for personnel to help them dig fortifications along the line.

Job listings on the Russian website Avito offer between 150,000-371,000 roubles (approximately £1,300-£3,200) for workers to dig fortifications in Kursk.

Another advert states the work site is located in the city of Kursk, on the "second line of defence" and that work involved "digging trenches". The work schedule is stated as "round the clock".

Some adverts say workers will receive "uniform, accommodation, meals, recreation areas", plus transportation to work and compensation for travel.

A video has emerged online showing an armed soldier pulling down a Russian flag from a building in Kursk.

In the video, purportedly from the Vnezapnoe area of the region, a soldier lifts the flag off a canopy roof and throws it onto the ground.

Yesterday, a Ukrainian news channel released a video apparently showing Ukrainian soldiers taking down Russian flags from an administrative building in the town of Sudzha, and shouting "glory to Ukraine, glory to heroes".

Ukraine's military says it has shot down all 29 Russian drones launched at its territory overnight.

The air force said drones were destroyed by defence forces over eight regions.

It said Russia also launched three Kh-59 guided missiles during the attack, but it did not say what happened to these or whether they had hit Ukraine. 

The ongoing Ukrainian invasion of Kursk is "generating tangible defensive, logistical, and security impacts within Russia", according to military analysts.

New satellite images from Maxar show a series of field fortifications - including trenches and anti-vehicle ditches - have been built in the Lgov area.

The fortifications are around 17 kilometres (10.5 miles) north of "the furthest claimed limit of Ukrainian advances in Kursk", according to the Institute for the Study of War.

ISW analysts said this suggests the Russian military is "concerned about potential continued and rapid Ukrainian mechanised northward advances".

Russian forces also appear to be "particularly concerned about major highways" and are likely working to "pre-emptively safeguard important ground lines of communication", the ISW said.

Thousands more residents are being evacuated from another Kursk district as Ukrainian troops continue to advance in the Russian region.

Kursk governor Alexei Smirnov said authorities were asking people to leave their homes in the Glushkov district, which borders Ukraine and has a population of roughly 20,000 people.

He said police and other state bodies would co-ordinate the evacuation.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian troops were continuing to gain ground in Kursk and had advanced one to two kilometres in several directions yesterday.

According to Russian officials, nearly 200,000 people are or have been evacuated following last week's surprise attack.

Emergency declared in Belgorod

The Russian border region of Belgorod declared a state of emergency, citing continued attacks from Ukraine.

"The situation in the Belgorod region continues to be extremely difficult and tense," said Vyacheslav Gladkov in a video posted on the Telegram app.

Daily shelling by Ukraine had destroyed homes and killed and wounded civilians, he added.

Some 11,000 people in an area of Belgorod were evacuated earlier this week due to Ukrainian activity near the border.

Ukrainian TV airs footage of troops pulling down Russian flag 

Ukrainian state TV aired a report showing Ukrainian troops pulling down a Russian flag from a building in Kursk.

Footage showed a building in the town of Sudzha, and three soldiers pulling the flag down while shouting "glory to Ukraine". 

The video appeared on the YouTube account of Ukrainian news programme TSN, which appeared to have a Ukrainian journalist in the town.

Ukraine 'captures 100 prisoners of war' in Kursk

Ukraine's top commander said 100 Russian prisoners of war had been captured today in Kursk.

Oleksandr Syrskyi was shown giving the update to Volodymyr Zelenskyy via video link in footage posted to the Ukrainian president's social media channels.

Mr Zelenskyy says Kyiv's forces were continuing to advance in the border region and had moved forward by one to two kilometres in different directions since the start of the day.

Ukrainian forces 'strike' four Russian military airfields

Ukraine stuck four Russian military airfields, according to the country's defence forces. 

Giving an update on the conflict on  Facebook , the army said fighter bombers, fighter jets and other military aviation equipment were based at the airfields. 

It named the four sites as Khalino, Savasleyka, Borisoglebsk and Baltimore.

Ukrainian servicemen have been seen riding military vehicles and hiding from shelling near the Russian border. 

Photos taken by Reuters showed a number of troops operating in the city of Sumy - the area used to launch Ukraine's surprise invasion of Russia's Kursk region. 

Fighting has continued in the area today, with Russia also declaring a state of emergency in the nearby Belgorod region. 

Moscow's defence ministry said Russian army units have stopped Ukrainian troops from gaining further territory near the settlements of Obshchy Kolodez, Snagost, Kauchuk and Alexeyevsky,

But Ukraine has insisted it is still advancing. 

Ukraine has struck four Russian military airfields, the country's defence forces has said. 

Giving an update on the conflict on Facebook , the army said fighter bombers, fighter jets and other military aviation equipment were based at the airfields. 

"The main objects of damage were warehouses of fuel and lubricant materials and aviation means of damage," the defence forces said. 

"The results of the attack are being clarified. Coordinated combat work of all components of the defence forces continues."

In our 19.36 post, we told you Ukrainian officials had reported a ballistic missile attack in Odesa.

Now, the regional prosecutors have issued an update on the situation, saying two people have been injured. 

Writing on Telegram, the city's prosecutor office said a 39-year-old port worker and 43-year-old grain truck driver were wounded. 

It said they "received injuries of varying degrees" and were being treated. 

Earlier, local governor Oleg Kiper said port infrastructure in the southern Ukrainian region was targeted in the attack.
