10 Good PowerPoint Presentation Examples
Engaging presentations are the secret sauce of effective communication. They bring life to ideas and transform information into inspiration. They are the heartbeat of any memorable message, connecting with your audience. With the power to captivate, educate, and motivate your audience, the best PowerPoint presentations can turn complex ideas into easy-to-understand visuals. Hence, we will discuss good PowerPoint presentation examples.
An engaging PowerPoint presentation perfectly blends content, design, and to-the-point information. A presentation’s visual appeal can significantly shape perceptions of credibility, commitment to a project, and relatability. Therefore, we have curated a list of good PowerPoint presentation examples for you to take inspiration from and make your next presentation stand out.
What Makes A Good PowerPoint Presentation?
To create the best PowerPoint presentations, we can go overboard with numerous designs and template options in PowerPoint. Having a variety of choices, like colors, formats, visuals, and fonts, is a creative opportunity. However, being selective is vital because not all design choices lead to success and make for good PowerPoint presentation examples.
There’s no one correct way to design your next PowerPoint presentation. Still, some good and bad presentation example designs are more effective than others. While a bad presentation can give off an unprofessional look, a good one can visually establish your brand and leave a lasting impression on your audience.
Let’s look at some of the excellent PowerPoint presentation examples that will help you up your presentation game:
- Limited text
- Less or minimal transitions and animations
- Cohesive color palette
- Keeping contextual graphics
- Customized illustrations
- Use no font size smaller than 18 point
- Logical flow of content
- Effective use of bullet points
- Proper symmetry between different paragraphs and pointers
- Having an engaging summary with a clear Call to Action
Limited Text
Limited text in a PowerPoint presentation works wonders, transforming it into an engaging and crystal-clear presentation. Less is more when it comes to text on slides. Keeping your content concise allows your audience to focus on your message instead of squinting at paragraphs of information.
A slide with a striking image or impactful phrase instantly grabs attention and conveys your point. Using this approach makes your presentation look great. It also helps your audience remember key takeaways, making it one of the best PowerPoint presentation examples
PRO TIP: One of the golden rules of PowerPoint presentations is using 30 words per slide or a minimum of 6-8 lines on each slide to help create a seamless flow where graphics complement your spoken words.
Best PowerPoint Presentation Examples With Limited Text:
Less or Minimal Transitions And Animations
Too many animations and transitions may not be your presentation’s best buddies. They can steal the spotlight from the core of your message. Best PowerPoint presentations shine by keeping animations and transitions in check. Use it in moderation to emphasize a point or draw attention to specific elements in your visuals.
One of the best PowerPoint presentation examples in terms of transitions and animations is using a “fade-in” animation for bullet points or critical pieces of information. Instead of displaying all the text at once, you can set it to appear one at a time as you discuss each one. This gradual reveal creates curiosity and keeps your audience engaged and focused on the current topic.

Best PowerPoint Presentation Examples with Minimal Transitions:
Cohesive color palette.
Another PowerPoint presentation examples includes a cohesive color palette throughout the presentation. We are not saying you must brush up on the color theory game before making your presentation, but knowing what colors to use can make a real difference. A well-thought-out color palette combination that complements and harmonizes can effectively direct your audience’s focus. It highlights what matters and downplays less critical information when needed.
Now, picking the right colors might seem like a puzzle. The golden rule is to use colors that work well together and provide a clear contrast without straining the eyes. If you’re short on time or inspiration, Microsoft Office’s ready-made color schemes can be a lifesaver.
PowerPoint Presentation Examples with cohesive color palette:
Keeping Contextual Graphics
A picture really can say a thousand words. Good PowerPoint presentation examples incorporate graphs, photos, and illustrations that enhance your points and keep your audience engaged. But remember, it’s crucial to put these visuals in context. Having contextual graphics or illustrations and explaining why they’re there verbally will help the audience connect the dots and understand the material. It looks great and ensures your message is crystal clear and memorable.
Best PowerPoint Presentations with Contextual Graphics:
Customized Illustrations
Adding customized illustrations to your PowerPoint slides is one of the best PowerPoint slide examples. It’s like giving your presentation a unique personality and a touch of authenticity. It’s a game-changer that can take your slides from ordinary to outstanding. Generic stock images or clip art can feel impersonal and overused. On the other hand, customized illustrations are tailored to your message and brand, making your content exclusive. They allow you to convey your ideas in a way that is distinctively “you,” establishing a stronger connection with your audience.
PowerPoint Presentation Examples with Illustrations:
Use no Font Size Smaller Than 18 point
Maintaining a minimum font size of 18 points in your best PowerPoint presentations is like giving your audience the gift of clarity and readability. It’s a simple yet impactful way to ensure your message shines through and your presentation looks professional. No one wants to squint or strain their eyes to read a tiny text on a slide.
When you use an 18-point font or larger, your content becomes instantly more accessible. Your audience can comfortably read what’s on the screen, allowing them to stay focused on your message rather than struggling to make out the words. An easily readable font is not only a good PowerPoint example, but it also helps your audience digest your content and perceive your presentation as professional and user-friendly.

A presentation with a chaotic sequence of ideas or topics can leave your audience puzzled and disconnected. A logical flow, on the other hand, guides your audience seamlessly from one point to the next, making it easy for them to grasp the bigger picture. When your content unfolds in a logical order, it forms a narrative that’s easier for the human brain to digest and remember. Effective Use of Bullet Points
To create the best PowerPoint presentations you need to Effectively use bullet points in your PowerPoint presentation is like serving bite-sized portions of information to your audience. It is an excellent way of keeping them engaged and ensuring your message is digestible and memorable. Bullet points break down complex ideas into concise, easy-to-follow chunks. They act as signposts, guiding your audience through your content with a clear roadmap.
Limiting the number of bullet points to 8-10 per slide prevents information overload and gives each point the attention it deserves. People have a limited attention span, so bullet points are your allies in delivering information efficiently. They allow your audience to absorb key takeaways without feeling overwhelmed. Plus, bullet points serve as excellent prompts for your verbal delivery, keeping you on track and ensuring you don’t forget essential details.
Best PowerPoint Presentation Examples with Bullet Points:
Proper Symmetry Between Different Paragraphs and Pointers
Ensuring proper symmetry between different paragraphs and pointers in your presentation is similar to creating a smooth flow that captivates your audience. It’s all about balance, and when done right, it can significantly enhance the appeal and effectiveness of your slides. Just as a well-balanced meal is more appetizing, slides with balanced content are more visually appealing.
When you maintain a consistent and symmetrical structure, it creates a sense of order and professionalism. Symmetrical layouts help your audience anticipate what’s coming next. When they see a pattern, like consistent bullet point structure or paragraph formatting, it becomes easier for them to follow your narrative. This predictability allows your audience to focus, not jumble.
Best PowerPoint Presentation Examples with Symmetry:
Having an Engaging Summary With a Clear Call to Action
Last on this list of best PowerPoint presentations is an engaging summary with a clear call to action. Think of the summary as the highlight of your presentation. It recaps the essential takeaways, ensuring your audience fully grasps the key messages you want to convey. A clear CTA is like extending a helping hand to your audience, guiding them on what steps to take next. Whether it’s encouraging them to explore further resources, make a decision, or get in touch with you. Adding an engaging summary with a clear CTA to your slides is the grand finale that ties your presentation together.

10+ Outstanding PowerPoint Presentation Examples and Templates
Nobody said it’s easy to make a PowerPoint presentation . There are multiple design decisions to consider, like which layout is appropriate for the content you have to present, font pairing, color schemes, and whether to use animated elements or not.
Making these choices when working under the clock is overwhelming for most people, especially if you only intend to make a report more visually appealing. For this very reason, we curated a selection of 11 good PowerPoint presentation examples categories in different niches to give you insights into what’s valued and how to take your presentations to a professional quality. All the templates used on each case will be linked for easy access.

General Guidelines for Professional-Quality PowerPoint Presentations
Business pitch powerpoint presentation examples, marketing plan powerpoint presentation examples, company profile powerpoint presentation examples, quarterly/annual results presentation examples, project proposal presentation examples, training presentation examples, change management presentation examples, industry analysis presentation examples, financial planning examples, inspirational presentation examples, academic presentation examples, final words.
Before introducing our presentation slide examples, we need to discuss a list of factors that transform an average slide into a professional-quality one.
Design Principles
For any professional-level slide deck, a consistent layout, color scheme, and font pairing are required throughout the presentation. The slides should remain uncluttered, with proper care of white balance across their composition, and stick to the 10-20-30 rule of presentations ’s concept of one concept per slide.
Contrast between text and background color must comply with web design accessibility standards , meaning to work with a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text, with exceptions for larger text. You can find more information in our article on accessibility for presentations .
A general rule in any graphic design project is to stick with fonts with ample legibility, like Arial, Helvetica, or Calibri. These are known as sans-serif fonts, and they work better than serif ones (i.e., Times New Roman) for larger text blocks.
Avoid using more than two different font families in your presentation; otherwise, the overall design will lose cohesion. Since you ought to ensure readability, the minimum size for body text should be 18pt, opting for larger variations and/or bold text for titles.
Using a combination of font pairing and font sizing helps create a hierarchy in your slides’ written content. For more insights on this topic, browse our article on fonts for presentations .
Color Scheme
Sticking to a color palette selection is one of the first design decisions to make when creating a custom slide deck . Colors have their own psychological impact on presentations, as explained in our article on color theory , so presenters must stick to 3-4 colors to avoid mixing up content in the slides. That being said, the colors have to be carefully selected according to the typical color scheme configurations, and using contrast to highlight key points on presentation slides.
Slide Layout
We can apply multiple graphic design guidelines to create professional-quality presentation slides, but in order to simplify the process, here are the key points to take into account:
- Grids and Guides: Divide your slide into sections using guides in PowerPoint or Google Slides. Then, you can build a grid that helps place elements and catch the viewer’s interest as they follow a logical flow while looking at the slide.
- Whitespace : Empty space is not your enemy. Slides shouldn’t be dense or feel hard on the eyes to read; therefore, work with a minimum of 30% whitespace.
Multimedia Elements
According to our expertise, video presentations and animation effects certainly increase the retention rate of the content you present. This is because they reduce the tiresome 2D presentation layout and add dynamism to the slides. Testing their functionality across different devices is a must to incorporate these elements into your presentation, especially if we consider that not all PowerPoint animation effects are compatible with Google Slides animations .
Sound can be distracting in many scenarios unless you opt for an interactive presentation and require an audio track for an exercise. Action buttons in the form of quizzes or multiple-choice questions are fine examples of how we can integrate hyperlinks in interactive presentations.
The first professional PowerPoint example we will cover is when creating a problem slide business pitch. This selected business pitch PPT template has a 50/50 image-to-content balance that allows us to add images from our organization (or stick to the corporate placeholder image design) and quickly summarize the issue or need that our business aims to solve.
Remember that the selected colors for the text background area and text color are not 100% pure values—they are slight variations to reduce eye strain, making this slide a perfect choice for any kind of meeting room. Ideally, you can present up to three different problems to solve; otherwise, the text will look too small.
Another fine example of a PowerPoint presentation comes at the time of delivering an elevator pitch . As we all know, this concise presentation format requires a considerable amount of presentation aids to briefly expose each point in the speech under the allotted time frame. In this Revenue Model slide, we can find the answers to typical questions that help us shape the speech, all of them with icons and cues to remember from which areas the information comes.
If we aim to create a sponsorship pitch deck , it is important to bring proof of past sponsorship experiences to build our credibility in front of prospective sponsors. With this best PPT template tailored for sponsorship pitch presentations, we can display such data in an attractive visual format. The neat layout balances whitespace with content, with three distinctive KPI areas to talk about your history in sponsorship experiences.
Talk about the market segmentation strategies of your marketing plan with this creative infographic template. This slide clearly illustrates that not all examples of PowerPoint presentations follow the same structure in terms of graphics-to-text balance. You can introduce data on how purchasing habits, user status, and brand loyalty influence buying decisions. Present key information about demographic & geographic segmentation and how psychographic information can provide deeper insights into consumer motivations to purchase.
Another PowerPoint example comes in the format of presenting market opportunities in marketing plans . You can list up to four points, which can be extracted from the outcomes of a SWOT analysis or from retrieved data from polls or stakeholders’ insights. The icons are entirely editable, and the crisp layout makes readability much easier.
Marketing agencies can benefit from this presentation PowerPoint example, which illustrates how easy it is to customize the content and repurpose slides for different client meetings. This and the other slides of this marketing plan slide deck allow professionals to discuss their expertise, past projects, and proposals for their target clients. In this case, the agency in question is offering insights on their work ethics through a clean slide layout with icons to flag key areas.
Our next PPT presentation example is suited for a Company Profile presentation in which we have to disclose key financial data. Thanks to the pie chart, presenters can segment revenue streams or do a balance between investments and profit. Additionally, the box placeholders allow us to deepen our knowledge of precise areas of interest.
Organizations who are looking to create a company profile can opt for a one-page arrangement to introduce the team members in charge, the overall services or products, the business model, the market, competitors, and relevant strategy information. The text boxes placed in the right area are a perfect opportunity to highlight KPIs.
In any company profile presentation, we have to introduce the organization’s Mission and Vision Statements. This presentation sample slide allows us to creatively discuss those topics. Including icons, users can summarize the primary aspects of their mission statement in one single, professionally styled slide.
Quarterly reports don’t need to be depicted as boring PDF files. We can work with clean layouts that provide information in an easy-to-follow format that focuses on the core elements of the report. This quarterly report presentation example is perfect for detailed reports as we cover all essentials in a one-page format for an employee’s performance review.
If, instead, you opt for a department-by-department approach, this slide presentation example illustrates two out of four quarters in the annual report. You can compare the product’s performance by production, allowing room to perform further optimizations based on sales behavior.
The construction industry requires a detailed presentation that covers all planned and contingency strategies for a project. Such an approach builds trust in the client, and that’s why we believe this PPT template for contractors is an essential tool for securing business deals. This presentation example template shows how to deliver a project proposal in style with accurate cost estimates.
A generic PPT project proposal template allows us to repurpose the slide for many projects—ideal for agencies, consultants, and academics. With this visual project proposal timeline, you can discuss the different stages of a project, plan for resources (both material and workforce), seek funding, or prepare for contingencies.
Once the project proposal’s core aspects are approved, teams must align efforts for project deliverables, acceptance criteria, and delivery format. This PPT presentation example illustrates a slide in a multi-team meeting to fine-tune aspects of the project deliverables, with an accurate representation of the due date and expected products.
Team training requires a framework in which the objectives of the workshop, coaching, or mentoring programs are laid out for management. HR teams can benefit from this presentation example by summarizing the objectives about missed business opportunities or expansion plans for the organization.
Before even delivering a training program, HR teams discuss the content to cover with the head of each department, mainly to spot any missing area of knowledge required for optimal operations. Presenters can repurpose this slide for that kind of training proposal presentation or the training presentation itself.
Intended for the early planning stages of a training program, this diagram is a well-rounded presentation example of how to discuss all points in one single slide, from the training budget to how to process employee feedback. We can expand each of these six topics in companionship slides.
Companies undergoing change management processes can opt to apply the DMAIC or the ADKAR frameworks to orient the workforce. This presentation slide allows management to compare both methodologies and pick the one best suited for their organization.
Since data sharing is delicate in charge management situations, implementing an information flow diagram is a good practice to orient your team, get the new owners or management the required information, and exchange information between departments.
For change management directed at process optimization, this example slide allows management to stress the importance between the current situation and the expected improved state. This PPT template can also introduce the different milestones per stage and involve the management parties per area.
Startups often present their industry analysis to procure investment from venture capitalists. This industry analysis presentation example showcases a typical FinTech segmentation. Presenters can describe the different types of crowdfunding, credit, and factoring services and provide examples of companies or platforms in each subcategory. They can discuss areas like asset management, payments, and other relevant aspects in detail, with successful stories from referents that helped shape their business model.
STEEPLE stands for Social, Technological, Economic, Ethical, Political, Legal, and Environmental factors. This framework allows us to perform a multidimensional industry analysis in which stakeholders can evaluate the appropriate approaches for venturing into a new business niche, renewing their overall strategy, or pursuing new goals based on recent industry changes, even those we don’t initially acknowledge.
The Gap Analysis concept compares a company’s current status to a desired future state. By doing so, organizations can identify deficits or areas that require improvement in alignment with the future state. Presenters can work with this metaphorical gap analysis template and express the need for a plan that bridges such a gap.
The next example of a PowerPoint presentation is oriented to the financial area, in which a consultant can refer to an organization’s asset management. By Scope, we imply the extent and boundaries of the asset management activities within an organization. It outlines what will be included in the asset management plan and what will not. On the other hand, Inventory points to a comprehensive and detailed list of all the assets owned by an organization. It includes essential information about each asset to facilitate effective management.
In financial presentations, the information must be clearly arranged so decisions can be made easily. In this case, we observe how a financial dashboard template can represent an organization’s relevant KPIs.
Think about TEDx presentations or Pecha-Kucha . They all have one factor in common: quality graphics to talk about inspirational stories. Graphics can feel overwhelming for some presenters, which ends in picking low-quality pictures or stock images unsuitable for the context of your slide deck. For this reason, we highly recommend you implement vector illustrations into your motivational presentation slides. Easy to customize, they are a valuable asset to mix & match PPT templates and create your custom deck.
Aligning efforts toward a common goal requires a powerful visual communication language. Images are easier to retain than words, so imagine adding a storytelling factor and turning a goal into a mountain to conquer. Presenters can work with this mountain PPT template and signal the different milestones to reach prior to fulfilling a significant goal for the company/organization.
Another take in inspirational presentations is when we need to share our success stories with investors or in networking environments to inspire others. With this roadmap PPT template, presenters can go stage by stage and present the key stages that made them reach their success, or even project for expected goals to achieve.
Academic presentations don’t have to look dull or excessively formal. We can incorporate a sleek layout into our slides and use icons to highlight key points. In this case, we observe a project overview for a research project, and the icons represent the main aspects to cover in this research.
A thesis presentation requires properly introducing the methodology to demonstrate the hypothesis. Rather than adding complex figures, we can work with a minimalistic slide design and briefly describe the research methods. This slide deck is suitable for thesis presentations as well as academic projects, research papers , and more.
As we can see, counting with a professionally designed slide deck makes a difference in how your presentation is perceived by the audience. By working with SlideModel PowerPoint templates, we can reuse and repurpose our slide templates as often as required or mix elements from different slides seen in these PowerPoint presentation examples to create uniquely styled slide decks.

Business PowerPoint presentation examples
Striking fear into the hearts of the workplace since 1987, PowerPoint is synonymous with bland, boring presentations that feel more like an endurance test than a learning opportunity. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Check out these anything-but-boring business PowerPoint presentation examples.
3. Design pointers
This PowerPoint presentation takes a tongue-in-cheek look at how the speakers and users of PowerPoint are the problem, not the software itself.
Even at a hefty 61 slides, the vintage theme, appealing colors, and engaging content keep the viewer interested. It delivers useful and actionable tips on creating a better experience for your audience.
Pixar, as you’d expect, redefines the meaning of PowerPoint in their “22 Rules for Phenomenal Storytelling”. The character silhouettes are instantly recognizable and tie firmly to the Pixar brand. The bright colour palettes are carefully chosen to highlight the content of each slide.
This presentation is a good length, delivering one message per slide, making it easy for an audience to take notes and retain the information.
Google slides examples
If you’re in business, chances are you’ll have come across slide decks . Much like a deck of cards, each slide plays a key part in the overall ‘deck’, creating a well-rounded presentation.
If you need to inform your team, present findings, or outline a new strategy, slides are one of the most effective ways to do this.
Google Slides is one of the best ways to create a slide deck right now. It’s easy to use and has built-in design tools that integrate with Adobe, Lucidchart, and more. The best part — it’s free!
5. Teacher education
Here’s a slide deck that was created to educate teachers on how to use Google Slides effectively in a classroom. At first glance it seems stuffy and businessy, but if you look closer it’s apparent the creator knows his audience well, throwing in some teacher-friendly content that’s bound to get a smile.
The slides give walkthrough screenshots and practical advice on the different ways teachers can use the software to make their lives that little bit easier and educate their students at the same time.
6. Charity awareness raiser
This next Google slide deck is designed to raise awareness for an animal shelter. It has simple, clear messaging, and makes use of the furry friends it rescues to tug on heartstrings and encourage donations and adoptions from its audience.
Pro tip: Creating a presentation is exciting but also a little daunting. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed — especially if the success of your business or nonprofit depends on it.
Prezi presentation examples
If you haven’t come across Prezi , it’s a great alternative to using static slides. Sitting somewhere between slides and a video presentation, it allows you to import other content and add motion to create a more engaging viewer experience.
7. Red Bull event recap
This Prezi was created to document the Red Bull stratosphere freefall stunt a few years ago. It neatly captures all the things that Prezi is capable of, including video inserts and the zoom effect, which gives an animated, almost 3D effect to what would otherwise be still images.
Prezi has annual awards for the best examples of presentations over the year. This next example is one of the 2018 winners. It was made to highlight a new Logitech tool.
8. Logitech Spotlight launch
What stands out here are the juicy colors, bold imagery, and the way the designer has used Prezi to its full extent, including rotations, panning, fades, and a full zoom out to finish the presentation.
Sales presentation examples
If you’re stuck for ideas for your sales presentation, step right this way and check out this video template we made for you.
9. Sales enablement video presentation
In today’s fast-paced sales environment, you need a way to make your sales enablement presentations memorable and engaging for busy reps. Sales enablement videos are just the ticket. Use this video presentation template the next time you need to present on your metrics.
10. Zuroa sales deck
If you’re after a sales deck, you can’t go past this example from Zuora. What makes it great? It begins by introducing the worldwide shift in the way consumers are shopping. It’s a global phenomenon, and something we can all relate to.
It then weaves a compelling story about how the subscription model is changing the face of daily life for everyone. Metrics and testimonials from well-known CEOs and executives are included for some slamming social proof to boost the sales message.
Pitch presentation examples
Pitch decks are used to give an overview of business plans, and are usually presented during meetings with customers, investors, or potential partners.
11. Uber pitch deck
This is Uber’s original pitch deck, which (apart from looking a teensy bit dated) gives an excellent overview of their business model and clearly shows how they intended to disrupt a traditional industry and provide a better service to people. Right now, you’re probably very grateful that this pitch presentation was a winner.
You can make your own pitch deck with Biteable, or start with one of our video templates to make something a little more memorable.
12. Video pitch template
This video pitch presentation clearly speaks to the pains of everyone who needs to commute and find parking. It then provides the solution with its app that makes parking a breeze.
The video also introduces the key team members, their business strategy, and what they’re hoping to raise in funding. It’s a simple, clear pitch that positions the company as a key solution to a growing, worldwide problem. It’s compelling and convincing, as a good presentation should be.
13. Fyre Festival pitch deck
The most epic example of a recent pitch deck is this one for Fyre Festival – the greatest event that never happened. Marvel at its persuasion, gasp at the opportunity of being part of the cultural experience of the decade, cringe as everything goes from bad to worse.
Despite the very public outcome, this is a masterclass in how to create hype and get funding with your pitch deck using beautiful imagery, beautiful people, and beautiful promises of riches and fame.
Business presentation examples
Need to get the right message out to the right people? Business presentations can do a lot of the heavy lifting for you.
Simply press play and let your video do the talking. No fumbling your words and sweating buckets in front of those potential clients, just you being cool as a cucumber while your presentation does the talking.
Check out two of our popular templates that you can use as a starting point for your own presentations. While they’re business-minded, they’re definitely not boring.
14. Business intro template
Modern graphics, animations, and upbeat soundtracks keep your prospects engaged as they learn about your business, your team, your values, and how you can help them.
15. Business explainer template
Research presentation examples.
When you’re giving a more technical presentation such as research findings, you need to strike the perfect balance between informing your audience and making sure they stay awake.
As a rule, slides are more effective for research presentations, as they are used to support the speaker’s knowledge rather can capture every small detail on screen.
With often dry, complex, and technical subject matter, there can be a temptation for presentations to follow suit. Use images instead of walls of text, and keep things as easy to follow as possible.
16. TrackMaven research deck
TrackMaven uses their endearing mascot to lighten up this data-heavy slide deck. The graphs help to bring life to their findings, and they ensure to only have one bite-size takeaway per slide so that viewers can easily take notes.
17. Wearable tech research report
Obviously, research can get very researchy and there’s not a lot to be done about it. This slide deck below lays out a ton of in-depth information but breaks it up well with quotes, diagrams, and interesting facts to keep viewers engaged while it delivers its findings on wearable technology.
Team presentation examples
Motivating your team can be a challenge at the best of times, especially when you need to gather them together for….another presentation!
18. Team update template
We created this presentation template as an example of how to engage your team. In this case, it’s for an internal product launch. Using colorful animation and engaging pacing, this video presentation is much better than a static PowerPoint, right?
19. Officevibe collaboration explainer
This short slide deck is a presentation designed to increase awareness of the problems of a disengaged team. Bright colors and relevant images combine with facts and figures that compel viewers to click through to a download to learn more about helping their teams succeed.
Recruitment presentation examples
Recruiting the right people can be a challenge. Presentations can help display your team and your business by painting a dynamic picture of what it’s like to work with you.
Videos and animated slides let you capture the essence of your brand and workplace so the right employees can find you.
20. Company culture explainer
If you’re a recruitment agency, your challenge is to stand out from the hundreds of other agencies in the marketplace.
21. Kaizen culture
Showcasing your agency using a slide deck can give employers and employees a feel for doing business with you. Kaizen clearly displays its credentials and highlights its brand values and personality here (and also its appreciation of the coffee bean).
Explainer presentation examples
Got some explaining to do? Using an explainer video is the ideal way to showcase products that are technical, digital, or otherwise too difficult to explain with still images and text.
Explainer videos help you present the features and values of your product in an engaging way that speaks to your ideal audience and promotes your brand at the same time.
22. Product explainer template
23. lucidchart explainer.
Lucidchart does a stellar job of using explainer videos for their software. Their series of explainers-within-explainers entertains the viewer with cute imagery and an endearing brand voice. At the same time, the video is educating its audience on how to use the actual product. We (almost) guarantee you’ll have more love for spiders after watching this one.

Creating the best PowerPoint presentation isn’t just about slapping facts and figures together or dazzling with snazzy graphics — it’s an art form.
During my time at HubSpot, I created a lot of presentations. Since then, I’ve seen the good, the bad, and the PowerPoints desperately crying for a makeover. I’ve learned that the secret isn’t just in the text or visuals but in how you serve it up.
In this guide, I’ll share some pro tips on how to make the best PowerPoint presentation. You’ll learn how to hold your audience’s attention and drive your message home with clarity. Plus, I’ll share real-life examples to inspire you.
What Good Presents Have in Common
Best PowerPoint Presentations
What do good presentations have in common.
I’ve discovered that five elements are a must-have when creating a great presentation . Let’s look at each one.
1. The presentation is highly relevant to the audience.
A lot goes into creating presentations that hit the mark. First, I clearly define my audience. Then, I choose topics that genuinely interest them, offer actionable advice, answer their questions, or address their pain points.
But this isn’t just my strategy. Mike O’Neill , founder and CEO of Backspace Travel , a modern travel agency, also talks about things that matter to his audience. He says, “We conduct dry runs with a smaller group to gather feedback and refine the presentation. Testing the presentation with colleagues allows us to identify areas that resonate [with our audience] or need improvement before the final delivery.”
I’ve found that crafting a captivating title influences how receptive my audience will be. For example, instead of a bland title like “New Product Features,” I’d go with something more intriguing like “Discover the Hidden Gems of Our Latest Product Features.”
It makes my audience wonder what those hidden gems are and still lets them know it’s about new product features.

2. The presentation has a clear objective.
As a former content manager and strategist at HubSpot, I learned the importance of setting audience expectations. Whether it’s a new project, a marketing strategy , or even a sales pitch, I made sure my slides and commentary tied back to the key takeaways I wanted my audience to remember.
Alexandria Agresta , a corporate trainer and leadership development expert, uses what she calls the three Ps of a presentation:
- Purpose. What’s the purpose of the presentation?
- Challenge. What’s the challenge your audience is facing?
- Possible. What outcome do they desire?
She says this process empowers her to convey her message in a way that resonates with her audience. Once she establishes the three Ps, she creates a clear, concise outline that includes key points and topics she hopes to cover.
“I then create a dedicated slide at the beginning of the presentation that succinctly outlines what will be covered during the presentation. This sets expectations for the audience and gives them a roadmap of what to expect,” Agresta says.
Whatever the topic, highlight your key takeaways on a specific slide (ideally the cover slide), so your audience clearly understands what your presentation is about from the get-go.
3. The presentation follows an organized storyline.
One thing I’ve learned about presentations is that it isn’t just about conveying information; it’s about telling a story that guides your audience from start to finish. Each slide is a chapter that leads to a satisfying conclusion.
There are many ways to infuse storytelling into your presentations. You can get as creative as you want, like Aaron Wertheimer , a full-time SEO marketing copywriter for Marketing Reel , does.
He says, “I infuse storytelling into my PowerPoint presentations by including a Bitmoji sticker of myself as it relates to each slide, and I demarcate each slide with verbiage to indicate which part of the sequence we are currently at in the presentation.”
Just make sure to have a beginning, a middle, and an end so you can clearly demonstrate the point you’re leading towards.
4. The audience understands the next steps.
When creating my presentations, I always specify the action I want my audience to take by the time we conclude. Do I want them to sign up for a service? Consider a new perspective? Remember key points?
Chirag Nijjer , a customer success lead at Google, usually wraps up his presentations with two CTAs: one that’s beneficial to him and one that benefits his audience. His presentations are more impactful when he combines both CTAs.
He explains with an example: “If I’m presenting to a group of professors who intend to use the info to teach their students, I’d write, ‘Would you like access to the summary slides and a list of project ideas for your students to learn this topic? Fill out the feedback form and give me your email address.’”
I can see why this method works. The email address allows him to contact his audience, and he also benefits them by teaching them how to turn his presentations into valuable action. It’s like killing two birds with one stone!
Remember, though, if you want your audience to perform an action after your presentation, be clear about what you want them to do next.
5. The audience leaves with contact information and/or resources.
I’ve observed that at the end of my presentations, most attendees want more information or a chance to discuss the topic further.
That’s why I always provide my contact details or additional resources. So, if anyone wants to reach out for a one-on-one chat or read further, they’ll have what they need to delve deeper into the material.
For example, after a presentation on digital marketing strategies , I might provide my email address and invite attendees to reach out if they have any questions. I could also share a list of recommended books, articles, or even YouTube videos for those who want to take their digital marketing journey to the next level.
How to Do the Best Powerpoint Presentation
Now that I’ve covered what to look for in a killer slide deck, let’s jump right in and talk about how you can make your next presentation unforgettable.
1. Less is more.
I’ve used PowerPoint a lot, and it’s tempting to pack slides with flashy graphics and tons of text. However, I learned the hard way that less is often more.
Once, I was tasked with presenting a new content strategy to the marketing team. Eager to impress, I packed my slides with stunning visuals, intricate graphs, and loads of text explaining every detail of the strategy.
I thought the more information there was, the better. But as I started presenting, I quickly realized my mistake.
The team seemed overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information on the slides. They were so busy trying to decipher the infographics and read the tiny texts that they missed out on the main points I was trying to convey.
In the end, I could sense that I hadn’t made the impact I had hoped for. It was a humbling experience, but it taught me a valuable lesson: simplicity is key.
Since then, I’ve made a conscious effort to streamline my presentations with a clear message and avoid complex details that could distract my audience.
Here are some key points to always remember:
- Let the focus be on your message instead of the slides themselves.
- Keep the slides relevant and simple enough so people can pay attention to what you’re saying.
- Your visuals and fonts should support your message, not steal the spotlight.
2. Keep text to a minimum.
From my experience, you can tell that adding too much text overwhelms people, and instead of listening to you, they focus on trying to read the slides. And that’s not what you want. You want your audience to be engaged, hanging onto your every word, not trying to decipher paragraphs of text.
So, use fewer words in large fonts. That way, you’ll make sure everyone, from the front row to the back, sees what’s on the screen without squinting.
3. Rethink visuals.
People are 30 times more likely to read infographics than written articles. This stat just puts a stamp on what I’ve said about reducing the amount of text in your presentations. It’s like a neon sign screaming: “Less text, more visuals!”
However, that doesn’t mean you can just throw some nice-looking photos onto your pitch deck and move on. Like any other content strategy, your visual game must be on point and relevant.
Let me share the different types of visuals I’ve come across in my years of doing presentations to help you figure out what works best.
PowerPoint templates have come a long way since Microsoft first unveiled the program to the world, and I occasionally use them in my presentations.
However, to make my PowerPoint slides stand out, I always opt for a theme that my audience hasn’t seen dozens of times before — one that vibes with my brand and fits the topic I’m talking about.
Sometimes, I explore presentation platforms other than PowerPoint (like Prezi) to discover fresh templates. There are also tons of visual content design sites that offer customizable templates I can tweak to match my brand and topic perfectly.
Canva is one of my favorites. It offers a plethora of templates and allows me to create presentations from scratch.
I’ve also tested out Venngage’s free presentation maker and found it super handy for getting eye-catching slide templates, icons, and high-quality stock photos for my PowerPoint tutorials.

Charts and Graphs
One of my favorite ways to back up what I’m saying in my presentation is to toss in some stats and data visualization. Charts and graphs jazz things up and make the numbers way more interesting.
However, I don’t just share the facts; I let my audience know the story behind those numbers. For example, instead of just presenting quarterly sales figures to my team, I would highlight the challenges we faced, the strategies we implemented, and the victories we celebrated to arrive at those digits.
One thing you always need to do, though, is to make sure your charts and graphs blend in seamlessly with the rest of your presentation’s visual theme. Otherwise, these graphics are more likely to steal the show than help you get your point across.
Color Scheme
I understand that colors can really play with my audience’s emotions. So, even if I’m not trying to close a deal with my presentation, I might want to stir up specific feelings or impressions, and the color palette I choose can help with that.
Max Shak , founder and CEO of nerDigital , even considers cultural differences and color associations to make sure his presentations hit the right notes with diverse audiences.
I’d recommend checking out Coschedule’s guide to color psychology in marketing . It’s a goldmine of how different tones, shades, and color combinations can sway buying decisions. You’ll definitely elevate your presentation game by following this guide.
When I add text to my slide decks, I want it to be simple enough for everyone to read. If it’s tiny or crammed, people end up squinting and missing out on what I’m saying.
That’s why I recommend using web-safe fonts like Sans-Serif or Arial. They’re easy on the eyes and can display correctly even if a user hasn’t installed them on their computer.
4. Incorporate multimedia.
I could talk about something all day long, but it won’t have the same impact as showing it to you.
That’s where multimedia comes in — it’s the secret sauce for keeping people engaged in your presentations.
When I do a simple Google search for “ music in presentations ,” it pulls up a bunch of results that talk about how to add music to my slide decks. From this, it’s clear that using music in my presentations is a unique way to engage my audience or at least set a welcoming tone before and after I speak.
But if you want people glued to your slideshows throughout your presentation, incorporate videos. I mean, a whopping 96% of individuals admit they tune into explainer videos to learn more about a product.
So why not give people what they want? Videos can bring theories to life in a way that words or photos alone just can’t match.
In my years of experience, I’ve come across many pitch decks, and the best ones always cut through the clutter. In this section, I’ll share 15 PowerPoint presentation examples that set the bar for what a professional presentation should look like.
1. The HubSpot Culture Code by HubSpot Co-founder Dharmesh Shah
Not to sing our own praises, but The HubSpot Culture Code has been one of our most successful presentations. The secret? Shah chooses a central theme — the acronym HEART (humble, empathetic, adaptable, remarkable, and transparent).
This acronym embodies our company’s values while providing a central message for the presentation. Plus, heart icons on the slides make the connection clear.
I like the style and message of this presentation. It sticks to our brand colors and fonts and makes everything super clear and easy on the eyes.
I especially enjoy the superhero theme on slide 26 — it’s a fun way to say that we’re all about empowering our customers to be their best. It elevates the idea of customer support from a duty to a mission, which I find very motivating.
2. 2022 Women in the Workplace Briefing by McKinsey & Company
This slide deck lays out key data from McKinsey’s 2022 research on women in the workplace. It uses a mix of graphs, images, and other visual representations to illustrate how the expectations women face at work have evolved over time.
I’m impressed by how they’ve maintained their brand colors throughout the presentation. I’m a big fan of consistency, and this slideshow nails it by sticking to its color scheme from start to finish. It creates a cohesive look and reinforces their brand identity , which makes the presentation look professional.
Another thing I like about it is that the titles immediately say what each slide is about. It helps you navigate the presentation effortlessly and keeps you focused on the main points.
3. SEO, PPC, and AI in 2023 and Beyond by Lily Ray
Lily Ray and Inna Zeyger from Amsive Digital took inspiration from the world of science fiction. It’s pretty cool how they playfully bring in imagery from movies like “Blade Runner“ and “Ghost in the Shell” when talking about AI and the future of marketing in their SlideShare presentation .
The whole futuristic vibe with vibrant colors grabs my attention right away. It’s a fresh break from the usual bland corporate stuff, and they do a fantastic job of making sure you enjoy their presentation while learning something new.
4. ChatGPT: What It Is and How Writers Can Use It by Adsy
We all get writer’s block sometimes. Trust me, I’ve been there, staring at a blinking cursor, feeling the frustration build up. But ChatGPT acts like a trusted sidekick, nudging me along and whispering, “Hey, how about this idea?”
This presentation breaks down what ChatGPT is, its limitations, and more importantly, what it can do. I find it pretty helpful, especially if you’re new to the AI chatbot.
One thing I like most about the SlideShare presentation is that it has a lot of use cases that can inspire you. For example, if it tells you ChatGPT can write a YouTube script, it shows you the prompt the creator used and the results they got.
I also love how it uses a combination of bold white text against a blue background or black and blue text on a white background to call out important headings. And those key definitions are right there in the center, surrounded by all that whitespace , practically begging you to take a closer look.
5. Insights from the 2022 Legal Trends Report by Clio
I’m a big advocate of adding visuals to your business presentations. But it doesn’t have to be the same old boring office stock photos. Take a cue from Clio’s presentation.
Clio has incorporated abstract elements to keep things fresh — simple shapes like triangles, rectangles, and circles. These shapes blend seamlessly with different charts and graphs, adding an artistic touch to the slide decks.
6. Email Marketing Trends by Gabriel Blanchet
Gabriel Blanchet creates a short presentation to explain some key elements of email marketing and its trends to show us why it’s still a valuable tool despite the rise of social media.
What do I love about these slides? They’re awesome. Bright colors, clean visuals — they’ve got it all. What seals the deal for me is how Gabriel breaks down each point and explains why it matters.
7. 2022 GWI’s Social Report by GWI
I’m really impressed by how Leticia Xavier uses different shades of pink and purple to add some contrast to the slides. Everything, from the graphs to the backgrounds and images, sticks to this same color palette.
If I’m ever worried about my visuals not contrasting enough, I’ll definitely draw inspiration from Leticia’s color palette. Pick one or two colors and play around with different shades and tones to tie the slides together and make them pop.
8. Digital 2023 Global Overview Report by DataReportal
I chose this slide deck from DataReportal because it reminds me that strong contrast between text and background is crucial. It’s what makes my slides easy to scan.
The presentation uses a dark background throughout. The graphs and icons pop in bright orange, red, blue, and green, while the text keeps it white.
That said, if you’re prepping for an in-person presentation, think about the room. If it’s dim with the lights off, a dark background like this is spot on. But if it’s all bright and sunny, stick to a light background with dark text.
9. ThinkNow Culture Report 2022 by ThinkNow
ThinkNow impresses me with how they’ve mixed magenta and yellow in the background of their PowerPoint design. Meanwhile, the graphs stick to classic black and white. It’s a smart move that creates sharp contrast and makes the visual elements easy to scan.
Plus, I appreciate how the headers are in a readable font, summarizing what each slide covers.
10. 2023 Metro CERT Annual Event by MNCERTs
I’m surprised by how simple this Metro CERT presentation is. It displays just a few words per slide, all in big, bold fonts. The contrast between the blue and yellow colors is striking and makes everything really pop.
And you know what’s even more creative? There are loads of images of people sprinkled throughout. It adds a nice personal touch that keeps things interesting.
11. Pecan Creek Winery 2023 in Pictures Presentations
As I was going through Pekan Creek Winery’s business presentation, I noticed how it sticks to a simple color palette of just white and black. It’s clean and sleek and lets the content shine without any distractions.
It’s also packed with loads of pictures that showcase events and the wine-making process. That’s exactly how you craft a presentation that gets people pumped up about your brand.
12. LLMs in Healthcare and Pharma. VTI day
This engaging presentation impresses me with its visuals. From charts to photos and even some fun animations, it’s got a little bit of everything to keep its audience hooked.
It keeps the fonts simple, which I appreciate. Plus, those bright background colors make the black and blue text stand out.
The presentation is also spiced up by the story of a dog named Sassy. It adds a personal touch. And who doesn’t like a good story? It’s a surefire way to keep attendees glued to your presentation.
13. Exploring Advanced API Security Techniques and Technologies by Sudhir Chepeni
The next time I do a data-heavy presentation, I’ll take some inspiration from Sudhir Chepeni’s slide designs. The dark background paired with bright text commands attention. And those simple, readable fonts make it easy to digest the information.
Plus, I admire how he sprinkled charts and data throughout. It keeps things interesting and breaks up the text nicely.
14. Competition in Energy Markets by Georg Zachmann
Simplifying technical information can be a tough nut to crack, especially when you have to explain it in a slide deck. But Georg Zachmann isn’t afraid of the challenge.
He uses graphs and charts to break down complex technical issues about the energy crisis into clear visual representations, which I really love.
I also noticed the big, bold headings that immediately tell you what each slide is about. You can skim the document quickly and hone in on the key points you need to know.
15. 10 Things That Helped Me Advance My Career by Thijs Feryn
This presentation impresses me right from the cover slide. The image of a man ascending the stairs captures a sense of effort and accomplishment, which is precisely what the presentation is all about.
The keynote speaker, Thijs Feryn, nails it with the storytelling aspect. Each slide feels like a new chapter unfolding and transitioning seamlessly into the next.
And the visuals? They’re top-notch — from captivating photos to lively animations and even a handy map. Plus, those bright colors and huge text fonts make sure every detail pops, even for the person chilling in the back row.
Create the Best PowerPoint Presentation Designs
As someone who’s created countless presentations, I’ve seen firsthand the transformation that happens when you put a little soul into those slide layouts — whether adding sleek visuals, cutting down on clutter, or weaving a story that carries your message.
Implement the tips I’ve discussed here so that each slide can act as a stepping stone that gently guides your audience to where you want them next. These little touches can turn a good slide deck into your best PowerPoint presentation yet.

7 Unique Presentation Examples That Will Inspire You
After a while, all PowerPoint presentations look exactly the same, don’t they? Wrong! The way a PowerPoint is designed can really change the feel of the whole presentation. The world is filled with bad PowerPoint presentations. But precisely because of that, a good PowerPoint will stand out even more. Check out these amazingly good presentation examples to get some design ideas for your next PowerPoint.
Why presentations are important
Before we go through the presentation examples, it’s important to talk a little about what makes a PowerPoint presentation really good. It’s a common mistake to think that the design of your PowerPoint is a secondary factor in a presentation. Content and information are definitely vital, but the design also affects the overall way people react to your presentation. Sometimes even more that you could imagine.
Think about it this way: you probably won’t go to an important presentation dressed as if you just got out of bed. If it’s a really important one, you’ll probably even worry about looking your best. You probably won’t think twice about spending a little more time grooming yourself and making sure you look good. And this is because appearances do matter. Whether we like it or not, people unconsciously read many things from the way we present ourselves visually. And these ideas can stick for a long, long time in people’s minds. And, even more, they are built incredibly fast. According to Forbes, first impressions are made in the first 7 seconds of a meeting .
Business presentations are exactly the same. There are many things your audience can read from your presentation design alone. For once, the way your presentation looks will probably give them an impression of how professional you and your business are. A plain, all-white presentation can give the impression that you’re lazy or that you did it last minute. The way a presentation looks can certainly influence how trustworthy you look, or how committed to a project, or how relatable you are.
Characteristics of a good presentation deck
People can read many things from a presentation, and it’s your duty to work on the image you want to project. A bad presentation can make you look unprofessional, yes. But a presentation is also a great opportunity to establish your brand visually and to make sure it stays on your audience’s minds. It’s up to you to take advantage of the possibilities presentations offer you.
It’s definitely easier said than done, though. Making a unique PowerPoint design demands creativity and imagination. So before you check out the presentation examples, look at this short list of design ideas. Hopefully, you could use these as inspiration for your next PowerPoint. They’ll surely take any plain presentation to the next level.
Title slides
You probably have experienced this: You get distracted from a presentation for 5 seconds, and suddenly you have no idea of what the speaker is talking about. You’ve gotten yourself lost, and it’s pretty difficult to get back on track when you don’t even know what new topic you’re talking about. Title slides are a great way to show your audience in what section of your presentation you’re on.
Even if you don’t have title slides for each section, you should certainly have a presentation starter Title slide. This slide is vital because it’ll set the feel for all the rest of the presentation. Just as with yourself, people tend to judge a presentation right from the start. It’s incredibly important that you showcase what you want to showcase (professionalism, relatability, etc.) on your title slide.
You want your audience looking forward for the rest of the presentation, not to feel dread and boredom. Make it eye-catching without going over the top, and make sure the topic is clear. You can check out some of our other presentation examples to see how a high impact first slide is done.
Cohesive color palette
There is no easier way to make your presentation look unprofessional than to go overboard with colors. Even if the speaker isn’t necessarily the one that has designed the PowerPoint presentation, he or she will be automatically connected to it. That is why a “Rainbow” presentation will give the feel that the speaker doesn’t really know what they are doing. Even if the speaker is doing a good job, the picture that will remain in the audience’s minds will be of the PowerPoint presentation. And if this one looks improvised or unprofessional, that will also reflect on their idea of the presenter.
Finding good colors for your presentation can be a tricky task. The overall general rule is to pick colors that complement each other, and that have good contrast. This way, the presentation will not be eye-straining while still being easy to read. The easiest way to apply this is to pick one of the premade color schemes from Microsoft Office.
However, you probably have some extra requirements, like for example to use your brand’s colors. Things like this can make it harder to find a good color palette. There is no easy way to handle colors in a presentation. But the easiest tip is: when in doubt, keep it simple.
If you want to know more about colors and how to use them, you can check out how to pick the right colors for your next presentation .
Data representation
PowerPoint presentations are, above all, a visual aid. That’s why you should take advantage of the visual potential they have. Many business presentations include some kind of data to illustrate a certain point or prove something. For example, growth or sales rates, or consumers per country, and so on. Many presentations’ main sin is that they try to showcase all this data in a written way like it’s a report. It’s one of the easiest ways to bore your audience and make them lose focus.
If you’re saying exactly the same that is written in the PowerPoint, why should they listen to you? You should aim to show something in a different way that will make them understand the things you’re saying easier. For example, if you want to share some percentages concerning some specific aspect of your business, the list of numbers will probably bore pretty quickly your audience. But if you show it visually, in a pie chart for example, your audience will be able to understand it easily.
Captivating visuals
“Captivating visuals” do not mean only photos and pictures. Sure, customized illustrations are great, as you will see in some of our presentation examples. But you don’t need them to create a great presentation. Many people think that it means adding at least one stock picture or something similar to every slide. Truth is, what presentations really need is visuals that complement smartly the information display.
This can be done by many different ways. Illustrations and pictures are a great option for this. They exemplify one or more points, but most important, they break the “all-text” image that is so frustrating for the audience. And to achieve this, illustrations and pictures are not the only way to do so. As has been said before, graphs and charts are a great way to represent data. And these elements also help to break the “all-text” effect. Other great options to do this are to use icons and geometrical. These can help to highlight your points, while still being sober and not very intrusive.
But the most vital thing to consider visually is the layout . The way you organize the information inside a slide can make all the difference between a plain slide and a professional looking one. The more your presentation looks like a textbook, the more difficult it’ll be for your audience to focus in it. Break down your information in smaller parts and see how they can fit into the slide. It’s a difficult thing to learn, but once you see the presentations examples, you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.
What not to do when designing a presentation
You can also check these bad PowerPoint examples , to know what to avoid. Some times, it can be just as useful to know what not to do! But right now, let’s go through some of the things that can really make a difference in turning your presentation from plain to spectacular.
Presentation Examples
Here you’ll find some amazing presentation examples done by our designers here at 24Slides. Hopefully, these will give you the inspiration you need to make a more unique, eye-catching presentation. Even the plainest, most boring presentation has a solution. It’s just a matter of knowing how to make it really stand out.
In 24Slides, our designers divide their styles into three categories: Corporate, Creative and Playful. This way, customers can pick the style that they feel they fit best with their brand and their presentation. To know more about these 3 styles and to see how they differentiate from each other, you can look out other of our professionally redesigned PowerPoint examples . You will find the original presentation and how it was remade in all 3 of these styles. This way, you can really see the difference between them, and pick the one that fits better your needs!
But for now, let’s go straight to the presentation examples! Here you’ll find some of the best Before-and-After transformations. This way you can really see how much of a difference a well-designed PowerPoint can really make.
This presentation was redesigned in a Creative style. This style is in some way the perfect middle between the other two. It’s more serious and business-like than the Playful style, but more flexible and casual than the Corporate one. This Adidas presentation is the perfect example of the Creative style. It showcases all the information in a professional way, but still keeping it visually attractive.
Adidas has a difficult color scheme to work with since it’s a brand that works mainly with blacks, greys, and white. It’s easy to make a boring presentation with that palette, as you can see with the all-grey background of the original presentation. Our designers change it for a more visually striking photo-background. But they kept the background photos at a high transparency percentage to make sure they didn’t hinder the text. They also added the brand logo with the back lines. This slide really shows how a slide layout can really change the feel of a presentation.
This slide is a perfect example of improving data visualization. Why put everything in written sentences, when you can show it in a much more effective way as a graph?
b) Linkedin
The Playful style is my personal favorite. Playful PowerPoint designs are proof that presentations don’t have to be boring or dull. This style is great for catching your audience’s attention. It includes a lot of personalized illustrations that will really make a presentation pop. This style is certainly less serious, but no less professional. You can see the effort that has been put into these slides, and how carefully crafted they are.
Check out the difference between these two slides. While the original one is certainly more serious, it’s the redesigned one that looks like a professional presentation. Dark backgrounds are great start to give a presentation a professional look, but it’s not enough. Anyone can change the background color. This PowerPoint example, despite not having a dark background, looks way more professional. It looks customized and detailed. Our designers took Linkedin colors to make a slide that really represented the brand. The effort put into it it’s what makes it a really unique-looking presentation.
This slide is also a good example of the importance of title slides. If you see the original one, you’ll probably brace yourself for a long and boring presentation. With the fixed one, you give the presentation a whole new feel. The customized illustration reflect perfectly the presentation topic and intrigues you enough to make want to hear more about it.
Finally, we have the Corporate Presentation style. This one is certainly the most serious of all three of them. This is the kind of presentation you want to show your boss to prove how reliable and rigorous you are with your job. It’s a great style for presenting data and cold hard facts.
The original presentation had a theme, with the blue lines in the upper and lower sides of the slide. But the use of different colors made it look a little improvised and overall just dated. The new design, on the other hand, looks clean and stylish. Something as simple as adding a visual element, like the central photo, can do a huge difference. Instead of highlighting text with different colors, the designers focused on separating the information in sections and using a monochromatic color scheme. This way, the audience can distinguish easily each part of the slide, while still keeping the design sharp.
Even something as simple as bullet points change completely when you use a more professional layout!
d) McDonald’s
This MacDonalds’ presentation is an amazing example of what a Playful presentation is all about. Vibrant colors, unique illustrations, and a distinctive layout. If you look at the original SWOT Analysis of this presentation example, it is completely plain and forgettable. But the fixed slide is truly unique. It conveys the information in a way that could not have been done for any other company in the world. It’s original and entertaining while still showcasing all the information needed.
This PowerPoint is also a good example of and amazing use of color. The original presentation was clearly trying to follow the brand’s official color scheme of red and yellow. But in practice, it made the presentation look pretty amateur. Our designers, on the other hand, made a customized color palette that made the presentation look not only professional but unique. They kept the red and yellow tones, but didn’t use them as the main colors. Instead, they created a whole scheme of colors that complimented them, and that allow them to add so much more detail into the presentation.
The customized icons are one of those things that really can make a difference. In the new presentation, you can be sure that the data being shown is from a fast food company. Making sure your presentation reflects your company is more than just pasting a logo in every slide. This presentation is a great example of how to do it right. Every single slide reflects its product in a playful, innovative way.
Oracle’s PowerPoint is another great presentation of example of the creative style. This presentation takes a plan, boring PowerPoint and transforms it into a unique one.
Check out how much a professional layout can change a slide. In the original one, all the element are crammed together. It’s even a little bit uncomfortable to read. There are too many things happening at once. The fixed slide conveys the exact same information, but in a way more organized, professional way. This is a great example of how to showcase data smartly. The designer used all their tools (shapes and colors to make divisions, icons, etc.) to convey the information in a visually attractive way.
Creative style is all about thinking out of the box, so this slide transformation is a perfect presentation example. While the original slide is not that bad, it’s a little dull. But if you change the layout and add a more interesting color scheme, the slide will look much better!
Here is another great presentation example of the creative style. Creative is actually the style more in demand by our customers, since it looks both sharp and fun. And this Amazon’s presentation really shows that.
Details do matter. While in the original slide there were graphs, the colors clashes, and it looks pretty cramped. Our designers changed the color palette to reflect the brand, the bar graphs for pie charts and adding a soft-edged caption box. Just with this, the slide looks more cohesive and with an intended design.
This slide is another example that visuals and layout matter. Having slide after slide filled with bullet points becomes boring very quickly. Think about in which other ways you could represent the information, and build your layout accordingly.
Finally, here’s another presentation example of a corporate style PowerPoint. This serious, straightforward style is ideal when you want a more sober, business-like presentation.
As much as a good minimalist style , less is not always more. The original slide with just a quote looks kind of empty, rather than minimalist. As has been said before, a basic gradient background will not fool anyone into thinking that there was time put into that presentation design. Adding “stunning visuals” don’t necessarily mean having custom icons or vector illustrations. Sometimes something as simple as a complementary picture and some geometrical detail, as in this slide, can really make the message stand out.
Make better presentations
Hopefully this presentation examples will inspire you when you have to do your next PowerPoint. Presentation design takes time and effort, but practice makes perfect. Do not expect a PowerPoint that looks from a professional designer’s portfolio at first try. Design is not something you can learn overnight.
However, if you don’t have the time to spend in learning how to design your own PowerPoints, or you want a really professional finish, you should definitely contact put team of designers here at 24 Slides. Your presentation will be as unique as anyone of these examples, and will reflect perfectly your brand and what you want to convey.
And depending how much time you invest a week in doing PowerPoints, it’ll probably even be more cost-efficient to hire presentation designers. This way you get better presentations that you could have done on your own, and at the same time, save time for your other tasks. So ask yourself: do you really need to learn how to design presentations? Or is it just another task taking time and energy from other more important things to do?
If it’s just taking time away from you, why not let the professionals so what they’ve been trained to do? Here at 24Slides we have incredible designers that will make sure that your presentations is everything you want it to be. You can focus on your tasks at hand, and receive your presentation ready within 24 hours, and more professional-looking than ever.

Design a presentation that engages your audience
Think about the last boring presentation you sat through:
- What did the slides look like?
- Did they have a bland color scheme?
- Were there too many points (or worse, paragraphs) crammed onto one slide?
- Were the charts and diagrams clunky and hard to understand?
When people see the same old boring PowerPoint layouts and themes, there’s a good chance they’re going to lose focus.
Rich media, like video, matters more than ever and there’s no better way to stand out than by creating creative and engaging visual content . If you want to really capture your audience’s attention, you need to design creative presentations , like this one:
That means incorporating eye-catching images, effective data visualizations, and bold typography into your slide decks.
This onboarding presentation, for example, strategically uses bright icons and illustrations to make the material more engaging. This is especially important when presenting to new hires, who are likely dealing with information overload on their first day.
In this particular case, a more visual approach is not necessarily a matter of aesthetic preference, but a decision that can make your presentations more likely to stick. Pro Tip: Venngage has over 40,000 icons and illustrations you can use to spice up your presentations!

Tips to hold your audience’s attention
Many Venngage users have mentioned that they’re always looking for ways to make presentations more engaging. But most of them don’t have any formal design experience.
If you’re in the same boat, don’t worry–this guide is for you. You can also check out this video for all the highlights:
Here are my top tips for designing a presentation with impact:
1. Start with presentation templates
Before jumping into the other tips, let’s set the foundation.
You’ve decided to create something a little more interesting than a standard PowerPoint theme–good on you! But that doesn’t mean you have to start completely from scratch.
Instead, you can give yourself a head start by using creative presentation templates, like this one:
Or this one:
EDIT THIS PRESENTATION TEMPLATE
While most PowerPoint themes are fairly limited in how much you can customize them, freeform presentation templates will give you the freedom to alter the design as much as you want.
For example, let’s take this template:
I used Venngage’s My Brand Kit tool to efficiently apply our brand color palette to the Uber template in one click:
There are a ton of creative presentation templates. You can take a look at them in our presentations templates library .
Cool? Now let’s talk presentation design.
2. Pick a visual motif to use consistently in your presentation
You can use visuals to pull your presentation design together and make it cohesive. Picking a visual motif will allow you to use consistent visuals throughout your presentation.
A visual motif is a repeated pattern, design, or image. In your presentation design, a motif can take many forms.
When it comes to infographic color selection , one of the simplest approaches is to use a consistent color motif (or color scheme). That could mean using one or two colors for all of your headers, background and borders.
For example, this presentation template uses two shades of purple for a modern design:
But combining different colors and patterns can also make for a more interesting design. For example, this presentation template uses a blue stripe motif to link the slides together visually:
You could also use a recurring shape or image, like the circle image frames in this presentation template:
Or you could use a motif that reflects the theme of your presentation. For this presentation, the template uses a recurring cloud motif throughout the presentation to reflect the “dream” theme of the brand. This presentation example demonstrates the power of maintaining a consistent theme to reinforce brand image.
This is a case where starting with a presentation template can really come in handy, because the template will already have a motif. Look for presentation templates with a motif that fits your topic and brand.
3. Highlight important information using text
Returning to the idea or focal points on your slide: emphasize a key number or phrase when creating a persuasive presentation using big, bold text in a contrasting color.
This will communicate to your audience that if they take away one thing from your slide, it should be that piece of information.
For example, this presentation template uses bright colored font in several sizes larger than the rest of the text to emphasize important numbers on each slide:
But you could also pick one color to emphasize key information with. That way, your audience will catch on to the pattern and look for that color in upcoming slides.
Take a look at how this presentation uses teal to contrast with the other text and emphasize information:
4. Dedicate each slide to only one topic
Just as it’s important for your slides to not be cluttered, it’s also important for your slides to be cohesive.
Keep each slide focused on just one topic. The topic of each slide should be clearly stated in the slide title.
For example, this presentation example, shows a template which covers different ways to be creative. Each individual slide covers one approach:
This simple, straightforward slide pattern will help the audience follow along without any confusion.
Or take this presentation template that introduces some of this year’s biggest business trends. Rather than listing multiple trends on one slide, each trend is fleshed out in its own slide:
As a presenter, keeping your slide topics organized will help you organize your thoughts as well. Each new slide will signal a new topic.
5. Don’t overburden your slides with text
Even if you decide to ignore most of the other tips in this guide, don’t skip over this one. This is presentation design 101.
When you flip to a slide covered wall-to-wall with text, there’s a good chance your audience is going to think:
- I don’t want to read all of that.
- This presenter isn’t well-prepared.
In fact, a study published in Business and Professional Communication Quarterly found that anxious presenters tended to use more text on their slides, usually because they used their slides as speaking notes.
Instead of using a bunch of text, look for ways to present information visually charts and infographics .
For example, this slide template uses brief text and some simple icons to summarize the presentation :
This startup pitch deck makes use of evocative images, icons and big text to help present its ideas:
6. Establish a visual hierarchy on your slides
When you flip to a new slide, your audience will be seeing it for the first time. Their eyes are going to naturally be drawn whatever the focal point on the page is.
The focal point is the most dominant area on your slide–the point that draws the most attention.
You can create a hierarchy of information on your slide by making the most important information the focal point of your slide. In most cases, the focal point will be the slide title, or a particular visual, or an important phrase or number.
There are a few ways you can create a visual hierarchy on your slides.
You can bold important phrases, like the word “Facebook” in this slide:
Icons also help to establish a reading order. They draw your eye from point to point. Placing icons beside headers and important points will make them stand out from the other information on the slide.
Icons can also be used to indicate where a new point begins:
Color selection can also be used to establish a visual hierarchy. Take a look at how the colorful blocks in this slide help to make the slide titles pop:
Your eyes are drawn first to the title text, then to the supporting information beside it.
7. Visualize data using charts and infographics
Replacing text with visuals is one of the best ways to prevent your slide design from becoming cluttered. Charts and infographics present information in an engaging, digestible way.
I won’t go into too much detail here about what types of charts you should use for what data. We’ve got an in-depth guide to picking charts for that.
But I’ll give you a few ideas for some types of charts and infographics that work well in presentations.
Related : How to Make Better Infographics for PowerPoint
If you want to visualize steps in a process, the history of something, or a roadmap, use a timeline.
This slide template uses a simple timeline with complementary icons to emphasize each date:
To compare amounts or sizes, a bubble chart can help drive the point home:
Learn how to customize this template:
To create an infographic for geographic and demographic information , a map can make a big impact on your audience:
A classic pie chart or bar graph should be easily understood by your audience, provided you’re following chart best practices .
This presentation template uses a bar graph, a pie chart and a line graph to show different metrics:
If you can, mix up the types of data visualizations you use. This will help prevent your audience from getting bored.
Those are just a few different ways you can use charts to visualize. For more ideas, check out our guide to picking the best charts for your data .
8. Create custom illustrations using icons
Custom illustrations are one of this year’s biggest graphic design trends . They’re fun, quirky, and more exciting than a boring old stock photo.
Creating your own illustrations for social media graphics might seem like a costly and time-consuming undertaking. And it can be. But I’m going to offer you a hack:
Use icons to create illustrations.
You can arrange icons together to create a scene–like the pieces of a puzzle. (Venngage offers over 40,000 icons, so finding an image shouldn’t be too hard!)
For example, this real estate presentation template uses icons to illustrate each real estate hack:
When picking ico ns or symbols for your illustrations , make sure that the icon style you use is consistent. For example, this presentation template uses line art icons for a scribbly youthful look:
For more ideas, read our guide to creating icon illustrations .
9. Change slide layouts to keep your audience engaged
You may be tempted to use the same slide layout throughout your entire presentation–either for consistency or because you’re not sure how else to design your slide.
The problem is, using the same slide layout over and over again won’t do much to excite your audience.
There are other ways you can create consistency throughout your presentation, while also using different slide layouts–like through a visual motif.
For example, this presentation template uses five different slide layouts. The consistent color scheme, image style and font style pull the presentation together.
To come up with different slide layouts, try dividing your slide into columns. This can make it easier to arrange the elements in your slide.
This can make it easier to arrange the elements in your slide.
10. Add a progress tracker to your presentation slides
Creating a sense of forward movement will help keep your audience engaged.
Similar to how you would put the chapter title at the top of the pages in a book, you can track the progress of your presentations in your slides. This will let your audience know what stage you’re at in your presentation. Your audience will also be able to refer to the sections in your presentation more easily afterward.
That said, pacing your presentation thoughtfully with well-designed presentation slides also adds brownie points to your presentation. Check out the top qualities of awesome presentations and learn all about how to make a good presentation to help you nail that captivating delivery.
A simple progress bar at the bottom of your slide shouldn’t distract too much from the rest of your information.
11. Download your presentation as a PDF
It’s common for audience members to request a copy of your presentation for their reference. Make sharing your presentation easy by exporting it as a PDF or zipped file.
Now that you’re equipped with some fundamentals of presentation design, the best way to learn is by doing. It’s also the perfect time to upgrade your presentation skills while you’re thinking about it too!

Guide to Making Great Presentations (Free eBook Download)
Before you read on, grab our free eBook: The Complete Guide to Making Great Presentations . It'll help you master the presentation process, from: initial idea, through to writing, design, and delivering with impact.
Now let's learn more about what SlideShare is, and dive into some great presentation examples with helpful tips:
What Is SlideShare?
If you're not familiar with SlideShare, you may wonder what it is and how it can help your business.
SlideShare is a platform that lets users share slide presentations online. Presentations can be shared publicly, or the share can be limited to a private group. Since SlideShare presentations are viewed online, they can be considered a form of online content. As such, they've got some things in common with other types of online content.
SlideShare was founded in 2006. According to SlideShare's own About page , the website ranks within the top 100 most-visited sites and has over 80 million users. The popularity of SlideShare gives you a chance to reach a lot of potential clients when you use it to share your presentations.
What Makes a Great SlideShare Presentation?
As discussed earlier, SlideShare presentations can be considered a form of online content. As such, they've got much in common with other forms of online content. Perhaps the most notable common factor is that you've got seconds to attract a viewer's attention before they move on to other online content.
So, you may be wondering, what makes a SlideShare presentation great? Why do some SlideShare presentations attract thousands of views while others are skipped over and fail to become popular?
Let's look at some of the most popular SlideShare presentations of all time and see if you notice any patterns or similarities between them?
Of course, there's more than one factor that contributes to a good SlideShare presentation. But here are six of the most important factors that many great SlideShare presentations share:
- Great cover image . This may be one of the most important factors on the list. If your cover slide doesn't draw your audience in, there's little chance that they'll stick around to view the entire slideshow. A compelling cover image is an important part of a compelling cover slide.
- Covers an interesting topic . It may not seem fair, but the topic of a slideshow plays a large part in whether it reaches an audience. The more interesting the topic, the more likely it is to reach its audience. If your SlideShare topic seems dull, figure out a way to make it more interesting.
- Tells a compelling story. It's no secret that we humans love a good story. If your SlideShare is interesting enough, you've increased the odds that readers will stick around long enough to find out how it ends. Don't be afraid to share your company's story.
- Uses clear slide designs. There's good design and there's bad design. Good slide design enhances a slideshow without calling attention to itself. Bad slide design distracts from your message. Bad design is obvious—even to viewers without any design training at all. Good design is often less obvious.
- Reaches a target audience. Not everyone is your potential client. A good SlideShare developer knows exactly who they're addressing. They'll customize your presentation through effective use of design, language, and other means. So that it's optimized for the target audience you're aiming at.
- Hits a marketing goal . A great SlideShare presentation is also an effective SlideShare presentation. That's why nearly every presentation that hits a marketing goal includes one or more of the factors listed above.
For a more in-depth discussion of what makes a great SlideShare presentation, review Eugene Cheng's helpful slideshow, SlideShare Experts Presentation Design Secrets From 7 Experts .
Note: Cheng's slideshow is also a good example of an effective SlideShare.
The Best PowerPoint SlideShare Presentation Examples (+Killer Tips)
There's nothing like a good example to illustrate a point. Here are 14 recent examples of some of the best PowerPoint SlideShare presentations we've seen with this article. I'll include an image and a link to each SlideShare. After each presentation example, I'll briefly explain a few of the factors that make that SlideShare so effective.
In no particular order, let's look at some of the best SlideShare presentations out there, with easy to follow tips included:
1. Use an Engaging Cover Design
If a cover slide catches your attention, chances are good that you're going to explore the rest of the SlideShare. That's exactly what happens with this slideshow from Patrick Stahler of FluidMinds.
Look at the rocket on this presentation's cover slide. Not only does the rocket ship catch your eye, but there's a symbolic meaning there as well. The rocket could mean many things ranging from exploration to soaring success.
Notice also that the cover slide heading is both scannable and concise. The use of highly readable headings and text are consistent throughout the entire presentation.
2. Tell a Compelling Story
When you see the caped figure on the cover slide of this SlideShare presentation from High Spark | Visual Storytelling Agency , your first reaction might be how does this superhero relate to storytelling? You'll want to click through to find the answer.
The SlideShare doesn't disappoint. It takes you through some popular superhero characters and explains why we find them so interesting. Here's an example of some of the storytelling in this presentation:
The picture here tells the story of two humans having a friendly discussion. They're definitely NOT robots.
Note: The characters in the above presentation belong to DC Comics.
3. Use Questions to Draw People In
You may think that a cover slide has to have an image to be compelling. Think again.
This top SlideShare presentation from Tim O'Reilly of O'Reilly Media starts with the three-letter question, WTF? Those three letters against a stark black background are enough to engage the reader. Inquiring minds want to know ... WTF?
The presentation goes on to answer the question of the title slide with a series of predictions about the future. The mood of the presentation is set by the title slide's dark background and is carried throughout the entire slideshow.
4. Good Design Makes a Difference
A good design should enhance a presentation, not distract from it. That's exactly how design is used in this SlideShare presentation from DesignMantic . While the design is attractive, it's not busy. Nor does it compete with the message.
One of my favorite slides in this presentation is this one, where the dots in the slide design are echoed by the round frame around the photo image:
The elegant design worked well. Of all the SlideShare presentations featured in this list, this one had the most views.
5. Add the Human Factor
It's been shown that people are drawn to photos of other people. Wrike makes good use of this principle with this great SlideShare . Nearly every slide in this presentation features a photo of one or more people, usually interacting in a work environment.
For example, who wouldn't want to be part of this fun workgroup?
This looks more like a group of friends at a coffee shop than a business team hard at work. But that's exactly the point.
6. Cover an Interesting Topic
Nearly everyone wants to become more productive. No doubt the authors of this SlideShare on Productivity Secrets from Officevibe knew this when they created this presentation about productivity secrets.
It's full of solutions to common productivity problems such as problems like email overload and time management . Since these are popular obstacles that many people must overcome, most people will click through to find the answers .
7. Icons Can Be Effective
Incorporating icons into your slideshow design can add interest. In this presentation from Yuan Wang of Studio Ninja, colored icons are used to add interest and not overpower the design or the presentation.
This slide is just one example of the effective use of icons throughout this top SlideShare presentation:
8. Reverse Psychology Works
The cover of this interesting SlideShare presentation from Stinson is compelling because it uses reverse psychology. Instead of talking about 10 things you need to do to create an effective presentation, it talks about "10 Things Your Audience Hates..."
Immediately, the reader is hooked. They wonder, "Am I doing any of these things?" If they're part of the target audience for this slideshow, they'll click through to find out.
9. Talk About a Common Problem
Who hasn't faced a difficult conversation in a work environment? The answer is ... probably no one.
Sooner or later most of us will find ourselves in a difficult conversation. But that's what makes this SlideShare topic on Mastering Difficult Conversations so interesting to a broad group of people.
The common problem addressed by Piktochart on this interesting topic with this SlideShare.
10. Share Statistics Effectively
This SlideShare presentation from Rand Fishkin of MOZ is about Google. There are an awful lot of people interested in what Google does. That interest in Google alone is enough to attract a lot of viewers to this SlideShare.
But this SlideShare is also about statistics. Statistics can be hard to share effectively. Fortunately, the SlideShare author makes effective use of charts to illustrate the data visually. Look at the sample slide below:
The slideshow could have buried these statistics in text paragraphs. But instead, we've got this attractive and very scannable chart.
11. Keep It Simple
Often the best slides in a presentation convey a single thought. That's certainly the case with this effective SlideShare from Loic Le Meur .
Nearly every slide in this presentation represents a single idea—sometimes with a phrase and sometimes with a photo.
But those ideas really pack a punch. A reader can see at glance the message that the author is trying to convey.
12. Don't Be Afraid of Color
It's risky, but the use of bright colors can make your presentation stand out from the rest. That's certainly the case with this colorful SlideShare presentation from Weekdone.com .
Look at the pink and purple in this slide about motivation:
It's colorful, but it works.
As a bonus, the entire SlideShare is only 14 slides long. The brevity means the audience is more likely to view the entire presentation.
13. Embrace Minimal Design
This SlideShare presentation from Bonusly proves that less is more with its minimalist design. Each slide focuses on a single concept. It uses short sentences and paragraphs, often without an image. Yet, it works.
The next time you're tempted to overstuff a slideshow with graphics, photos, and text remember this simple presentation and don't do it.
14. Design Consistency Counts
This SlideShare presentation by Barry Feldman starts with an elegant design that makes good use of graphic elements to add visual interest. The design shapes are echoed throughout the entire presentation in various colors.
In fact, the design element is so strong that no photos are needed. And, except for the cover slide, Barry doesn't use any.
This slide illustrates how effective a simple design can be:
15. Always Add a CTA
Make the most out of your SlideShare by including a call to action on the last slide. Let the audience know what you want them to do, whether that’s visiting a related article on your blog, downloading a free report, or booking a call. Be sure that the call to action is directly related to the topic of the SlideShare itself to make it even more effective.
Consider how HubSpot incorporates a call to action on the last slide of their SlideShare about calls-to-action . If you’re currently trying to improve your call to actions and are viewing this SlideShare, chances are you'll be more than interested in downloading their book to learn more about effective CTAs.
16. Make It Clear
A lot of SlideShare presentations are uploaded as an afterthought once the webinar or oral presentation is done and in the past. But, by doing so, you leave out a lot of the context and wind up with a SlideShare that makes very little sense.
If you want your SlideShare to be as effective as possible, you need to make it clear. You want even people who haven't attended your presentation to still understand the topic and the context. Look at how Rand Fishkin makes it easy to understand the SlideShare about content marketing by making the entire presentation look like a comic book.
17. Tease the Content
Keep the users engaged with your SlideShare by teasing the content. This also encourages them to click through to the next slide and the next slide… all the way to the end.
Mark Schaefer , in his SlideShare about social media engagement , does an excellent job of giving you just enough content to pique your interest. Schaefer also teases what’s to come, which just begs you to keep on clicking through the slides.
18. Don’t Underestimate the Power of Images
Aside from icons, you can make your SlideShare more interesting and visually appealing by using quality images and photos. It’s a well-known fact that images help us tell a story, not to mention we absorb information better when it’s visual so use that to your advantage.
Donna Moritz uses eye-catching images to add extra visual appeal to her SlideShare about different ways to stand out on the platform .
19. Learn From SlideShare Itself
An example of what they've got to offer is the SlideShare about different ideas for what to upload on SlideShare to get views on your presentation.

Best PowerPoint Examples, Plus a Useful PowerPoint Template
By studying effective examples of PowerPoint slide decks, you can create better meeting slides, pitch decks, brand guides, and more.
PowerPoint presentations are ubiquitous in the business world. You may not love making or watching them, but slide decks can still be a powerful tool for effective communication—when used correctly.
“Something as simple as a financials deck should be well-organized and easy to understand,” Margaret Pilarski, strategy director at branding agency Outline , says. “And you’ll get that information across to its intended audience if it is designed in a thoughtful way.”
Margaret and Outline’s creative director, Ky Allport, have helped bring brands like Omsom and Heyday Canning Co. to life. Although they clearly love bold design, they keep the slide decks they create for their clients fairly simple. One asset they provide their clients is a strategy deck designed in the client’s brand style.
“It gives brands an actual deck template that they could take and then repurpose for other things,” Ky says.
A good PowerPoint template can save you time designing your slides so you can focus on delivering an engaging presentation, and ensure you communicate clearly.
What is a PowerPoint presentation?
A PowerPoint presentation is a digital slideshow typically used to accompany a live presentation. PowerPoint presentations often include images, graphs, charts, and other visual assets to support the speaker’s main points .
Originally released for Apple Macintosh in 1987 (Microsoft purchased it later that year), PowerPoint was designed to replace transparent slides that had to be physically moved and focused with a slide projector. Today there is plenty of other software with similar features, but Microsoft PowerPoint still holds up to 95% of its category’s market share, and it’s a name that has become synonymous with slide-based presentations.
A single presentation, or deck, consists of multiple slides. Slides can provide a graphical representation of the data you share in your presentation, like:
- A line graph showing profit over time
- A pie chart that breaks down your customer base by age
- A map showing your supply chain
- An illustration of a proposed new packaging design
Alternatives to PowerPoint
Sometimes when people say “PowerPoint,” they’re actually talking about another presentation software, like Canva, Google Slides, or Keynote. Each has similar capabilities and includes basic presentation templates.
“Out of all of those, Canva is the most intentional for design,” Ky says. “You can upload your custom brand fonts, which you can’t do with PowerPoint or Google Slides.”
Ultimately, you should use the software that makes sense for your team. Outline, for example, uses Google Slides for internal presentations because most of its documentation lives in Google Workspace.
How to make a good PowerPoint presentation
Focus on content, keep it simple, stay consistent, make it legible.
Here’s how to create a stunning presentation slide deck that is visually appealing and engages your audience:
Adding a bunch of flashy graphics won’t keep your audience’s attention, and might just confuse them. You want your audience to remember the content of your presentation, not the look of your PowerPoint slides.
The best PowerPoint presentations seamlessly support your oral presentation. To achieve this, start by writing down what you want to say in your presentation.
Then, consider how visuals might support your points. For example, if you mention dates, you may want to include a timeline. Charts and graphs can make data easier to digest. Product features and packaging designs deserve their own photos or illustrations .
Most PowerPoint templates, including our free PowerPoint template, include a suite of slide templates relevant to a variety of business presentations.
Not every talking point needs its own slide. If it’s not obvious to you how visuals can support part of your presentation, it’s OK to stay on the previous slide until a visual feels necessary.
If you do feel the need to use slides to transition between concepts, try to find a word, short phrase, or image that represents the main idea of this part of your presentation.
Maintaining a consistent style throughout the presentation will give it a more cohesive feel, which is a major advantage of using a PowerPoint presentation template with your company’s branding. Adding your business’s logo and brand colors is an opportunity to strengthen your branding and give your presentation a more polished, professional look.
“It’s kind of like your brand’s dress code,” Margaret says. “Even if it’s just internal, it reminds everybody, ‘I came to work today to be this brand.’”
If you incorporate your brand colors and fonts into your presentation, make sure those fonts are easy to read and that there is enough contrast between the colors you choose. For example, use a light font on a dark background and a dark font on a light background.
If you’re presenting in-person, you want the people sitting in the back of the room to be able to read any text on your presentation slides. Use large enough fonts and keep text brief.
PowerPoint presentation examples
Nik sharma’s brand launch deck, heyday canning co.’s brand guide.
- Hims&Hers’ pitch deck
Here are a few examples of great slide decks to inspire your own:
Nik Sharma ’s brand launch deck is a good example of when it’s OK to have a text-heavy deck. Nik is a marketing consultant for brands like Jolie Skin Co. and Brightland and writes a DTC marketing newsletter (he’s also been interviewed on Shopify Masters ).
This 34-page deck is a resource for Nik’s newsletter subscribers. Since it’s not meant to support a live presentation, there is a lot more text than you would find in a typical PowerPoint presentation. Nik breaks up the text with well-placed images, logos, and keywords that have colored backgrounds to emphasize their importance.
This brand guide deck was created by Ky and Margaret of Outline for their client Heyday Canning Co . The 23-page deck shows how you can incorporate bold colors into a PowerPoint presentation without losing legibility.
The deck’s table of contents doesn’t list every single slide; instead, Outline uses divider slides with different background colors to signal conceptual shifts.
Throughout the deck, Outline uses font colors that contrast sharply with the background colors to ensure legibility. Slides that are image-heavy have a more muted background color, while text-based slides feature bolder colors.
Hims&Hers’ Pitch Deck
One of the most important times you create a PowerPoint presentation might be to pitch your business or idea. Health care business Hims&Hers used this deck to fundraise in 2021.
At that point, Hims&Hers was already an established company, with more than 100 employees, a dozen shareholders, and $138 million in revenue. The goal of this deck was to show future potential in the health care industry and position Hims&Hers as a category leader.
Because the audience for this presentation is potential investors, there are lots of numbers in this deck. Hims&Hers uses a variety of different types of data visualization to keep the deck engaging, including bar charts, pie charts, timelines, and line graphs.
For each data visualization, there is some accompanying text explaining a key takeaway. A visualization plus a short explanation is a great way to help your audience digest data.
PowerPoint examples FAQ
What is the 5-5-5 rule in powerpoint.
The 5-5-5 rule of PowerPoint suggests that each slide should contain no more than five lines of text, each with a maximum of five words. A presentation should have a maximum of five text-heavy slides in a row.
How do you write a good PowerPoint presentation?
Your PowerPoint should enhance—not repeat or distract from—your oral presentation. To achieve this, start by drafting what you want to say. Then, think of how visuals can support your points. For example: Use graphs and charts to support data and photos or diagrams to illustrate product features.
When should you use a PowerPoint presentation?
Create presentations whenever you need to share information that would be best supported by visual assets like charts, graphs, renderings, or diagrams.

10 slide deck templates for creating successful presentations, slide deck faqs, create attractive slide decks with visme, what is a slide deck.
A slide deck is a collection of slides used as visual aids during a pitch or presentation. Think of each slide as a single card in a deck with unique content, meanings, value and structure.
Like a deck of cards, you can queue up your slides to tell a story about a topic. Depending on your story's angle, tone and mood , you can shuffle your slides or eliminate some of them.
How you build your slide deck depends on these three things:
- The type of presentation you're making
- Who your audiences are
- What you want to accomplish or the message you're passing across
Slide decks like the one below are a valuable resource for entrepreneurs, marketers and businesspeople.
When used to pitch a startup or idea , a slide deck is also called a pitch deck . But you could call it a presentation deck when you're using it for other purposes like presenting a proposal in a professional or academic setting.
Slide decks help you present ideas in an organized format and aid delivery during presentations. Many presentation programs like Visme and PowerPoint let you add as many slides as you want to your deck. The best part is that you can design and customize your deck, making it look professional and attractive.

How you craft your slide deck can play a big role in the success of your presentation. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to create an effective slide deck.
Step 1: Build Your Deck Around Your Story
Want to up the value of your presentation? Start by focusing on your core message. Regardless of your presentation type, your slide deck outline should answer these key questions:
- What is the purpose of your presentation?
- What do you want your audience to understand or remember?
- What actions do you want them to take after listening to you?
Many people, including experienced presenters, tend to fill their slides with points that don't add value. This leaves the audience confused about whether to listen or read the slide.
Remember, the pitch deck should visually enhance your audience's learning experience. Once you weave your narrative around your main story, you can organize your supporting points around it. You're sure to engage your audience and drive your message across.
Dealing with busy execs who won't sit through your presentation? Use a startup one pager instead. It'll get their attention quicker and more efficiently. You can then secure a meeting to present your pitch deck.
Step 2: Use Premade Templates
Templates give you a creative head start. They provide consistency in design, layout and ideas. Visme has thousands of editable slide deck templates to help you create presentations quickly.

Type your text or paste the text you copied from elsewhere. Repeat the process throughout the rest of the slide deck.

3. Use High-quality Stock Images

4. Add Shapes, Icons and Animated Graphics
Use these elements to bring boring presentations to life. They are effective for creating minimalistic designs and explaining complex ideas.
Visme has a comprehensive library of more than one million shapes, icons , illustrations and animations . Click the graphics tab, select the asset, and add it to the slide. You can change the color, position and size of your design assets.

Select the chart or graph and customize the title, color, data, legends and more.

Step 3. Make Your Design Count
When preparing for your big day, invest as much time into your slide design as your content. What's in it for you? An engaging slide deck can draw in your audience and get them excited about what you have to offer.
Be Consistent
If your company has a brand guideline, apply your brand elements to the slides. But if you haven't got one, Visme helps create a strong and memorable brand identity .
Use the brand style guide template below to define your brand personality and ensure consistency.
After creating your logo, fonts and colors, you can save them in Visme's brand design tool . Your team members can easily create presentations in Visme and your brand theme will automatically appear on their designs.
Watch the video below to learn how to set up your branding kit in Visme.
Use the Right Font Pairing
Choosing the right font pairing and sizes can be a big deal, especially for non-designers. But getting it right can turn a boring slide deck into an appealing one.
Stick to two or three typefaces and assign distinct roles to each font —the more contrast between your fonts, the better.
For instance, you can use the same font for headings, another for the intro, another for the body and the fourth for quotes.
Use typefaces that connote your personality and style. If you're pitching art or design themes, incorporate classic and contemporary typefaces that connote creativity and elegance.
Not sure how to pair fonts? We've created this detailed guide to help you choose the right font combination for your designs.
Step 4: Incorporate the Right Visuals
Without a doubt, the human brain is wired for visuals . The mental capacity to process visual content far exceeds that of written and spoken words.
Attractive visual aids help you tell more compelling stories than text. Incorporating images, video animations and sleek transitions to break up static slides will get people's attention.
Bar charts that show patterns or trends can boost investors' confidence and convey excitement. The same goes for pie charts, which are great for comparing growth areas.
Use infographics to condense lengthy text into visuals that people can easily relate to. Luckily, Visme has the right tools for every job. With our infographic maker , you can easily translate your ideas into digestible graphics.
Step 5: Make Your Slide Deck Clear and Brief
One big mistake people make is that they want to keep adding content to their slide deck. They end up filling it up with tedious details irrelevant to their audience.
Remember, your slides are supposed to aid your presentation rather than contain every word you say. If you fill it with text, you could quickly lose your audience. They'll keep longing for the end and leave the room with little or no information.
To make your slide deck impactful, eliminate fluff. Keep it brief yet filled with key action points. Fit your information into three key blocks- a persuasive intro, a strong body and an actionable conclusion. You will have a more focused, shorter, and memorable presentation .
