Introducing the Edgenuity Master Controller v0.5!

I am very proud to introduce to you the latest version of the Edgenuity Master Controller. It is Master Controller version 0.4, taken up a notch.

The latest version contains the unlocker built-in, and a way to automate the next or previous button, either both by it hitting the next button, or by it hitting the back button by setting which direction it goes in config, so you can have less suffering whilst doing edgenuity. I would also like to mention that the directional way has a check built-in to check if an assignment is done, so you don't have to worry about it doing something wonky when you are doing your assignments.

This also will be the last post on this account, as I will be using the u/_avdf account in the future, once it is allowed to be used in this subreddit.

David Hamilton put on 10-day IL because of broken finger

David Hamilton was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a left index finger fracture after trying to lay down a bunt in the eighth inning of the Red Sox’ 1-0 win against the Blue Jays Wednesday.

Even with Hamilton out, Vaughn Grissom , expected to be the Red Sox’ starting second baseman after his offseason trade from the Braves for Chris Sale, still couldn’t crack the big-league roster.

Instead, the Sox recalled infielder Nick Sogard from Triple A Worcester.

“He can play multiple positions, switch hitter,” said manger Alex Cora before the series finale against the Blue Jays. ‘‘Then we’ll see where we are at during the weekend, because we have to make decisions as far as the roster. You know, it’s a little different now without Hammy. So I think, for today and the next few days, this makes sense for Sogard to play third base.”

Rafael Devers (shoulder) missed his third straight game. The Sox are aiming for Devers to DH for the first two games against the Tigers beginning Friday, hoping that he will return to third Sunday.

Rosters are set to expand Sunday, so, perhaps, that could be a time when the Sox call on Grissom. Grissom missed all of spring training because of a hamstring injury and later battled a stomach bug that caused him to lose 15 pounds. Another hamstring injury put Grissom back on the IL. When it came time for a rehab assignment, the Red Sox said they would use it as Grissom’s spring training, not only as a means for him to see game action, but also building up his strength while also focusing on shifting his running style, which the club felt led to some of the lingering lower body injuries.

After completing his 20-day rehab assignment, the Sox optioned him to Worcester, believing Grissom needed more time to work on his craft. Grissom was batting just .239 with three homers and a .684 OPS in 39 games for the WooSox as of Thursday. He’s struggled to make hard contact.

Since Aug. 8, Grissom has found barrels on just 7 of 36 balls in play (19 percent).

“We like where he’s at right now,” said Cora. ‘‘He’s making progress, swinging at the right ones, getting hits. But right now it feel like this is a move.”

Third-string catcher Mickey Gasper got the start at second against the Blue Jays.

Hamilton looks on bright side

Hamilton, uncertain when he will return to action, mentioned that while it may take up to four weeks for the bone to heal, doctors have told him it’s a matter of pain tolerance.

“In hindsight, I probably wouldn’t have even tried to bunt right there,” said Hamilton. “But I’m just trying to get on and make something happen. Yeah, I just got [a ball] up and in there.”

The loss of Hamilton means a loss of speed on the bases. The middle infielder has posed a significant threat , swiping 33 bags in 98 games. For context, Jarren Duran entered Thursday with 32 steals in 131 games.

Yet, again, with expanded rosters, the Sox are playing with the idea of using Hamilton as a pinch runner when he is able to return so they could maximize his greatest skill set.

“Maybe there’s a role with him that he doesn’t have to hit,” said Cora. “We always talk about the speed factor. So, we’ll talk about it. It makes sense.”

Story to start rehab assignment

There’s a strong chance that Trevor Story (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment next week. Cam Booser (elbow) tossed a scoreless inning for the WooSox, striking out three and yielding just a hit on a rehab assignment … Liam Hendriks (elbow) is pitching for Worcester Friday. He will have two more games next week but the team is unsure whether it will be for Double A Portland or Worcester … Shortstop Franklin Arias won FCL MVP and DSL Red Sox won Game 1 in the best-of-three championship series against the DSL Angel … Thirteen New England Olympians were honored at Fenway ahead of Thursday’s game.

On the road again

The Red Sox will visit the Motor City for a three-game set against the Tigers. Tanner Houck takes the mound Friday against a Detroit starter to be determined. Nick Pivetta and the Sox will have their hands full Saturday against lefthanded starter Tarik Skubal (15-4, 2.58 ERA). The Sox’ starter Sunday is TBD, however the Tigers will start Ty Madden . The Tigers (68-67) have been playing well as of late, going 7-3 in their last 10 games.
